  4. You dont have to design logo's in vector format if they are not going to be used on mainstream print items and bill-boards.... It was very obvious this logo is never going to leave the web (if it does then more power to you) but often I get my ideas down in photo shop first and then bring it to illustrator when I need to. but why go through the extra trouble? Also you think it was better before?? Really? REALLY? REALLY? REALLY? REALLY? REALLY? REALLY? I dont have a n appropriate response to that.. lol Also root host unless you like the dark boarder around your logo (avatar) you should probably use something like this.
  5. Your wrong to say I made it "worse" the top image was to big so I scaled it down and I added some coloring to it and split the top up a little to organize trying to put him in "some sort" of direction is all. There was no "Minimalist" feel at all because there was NO "feel" to begin with... But anywho no worries everyone's entitled to their opinions And just to be clear I really think you give fantastic design advice and where probably more helpful then me in this thread. But dont be so quick to judge peoples help as "tasteless" and think your design mind set is superior to others.. But like I said you are very knowledgeable just kinda douche..(ey)..
  6. Haha very creative! And I say PS for the win but both programs are very powerful but different.

  8. Oh okay that makes more sense.. But if your trying to copy that effect shouldnt you be using a black overtone and not a white overtone? Because instead of transparent it looks kinda faded you might wana try the black overtone with like 15 opacity and a full overlay effect. (wow this is last post the forum will allow me to make today... thats kinda bull) edit- dont know why it uploaded it 3 times? lol oh well
  9. Lol I have friends who have been going to school for this kind of stuff and they are like WTF how you get so good at designing.. and I simply link them to Pixel2life.com or something.. Then they just say, Huh? And then i think to my self (good luck paying off your student loans) haha Also I remember when the companies merged but their programs and the way they work/laid out are so different in style that I cant help but refer to them both. I'm sure ill get over it someday haha
  10. I think they are right about the transparent content. But for a simple design its almost better then something fancy as far as parents go. They like the personal feel. But I would try doing some blending on the top image (cause im to lazy) and make it so the background splits the image to show (croped out versions) of the picture instead of looking at half of a person. Crappy example of that below.. I think the sites not bad at all! (Ps I like the black mouse over effect but you might wana try any of the shades between #2a2a2a through #3a3a3a) which just seem to be easier on the eyes. Either way its fine though
  11. Oh okay I actually have heard of that program (i couldn't get that play station mini thing out of my head) But if your gana be designing anything use Adobe/Macromedia products. They will never do you wrong. And there are more variety of tutorials and free classes on how to use these programs making it easier to learn them then others.. But if you find it more complicated to use its probably because it has more capabilities! Anywho good luck with your site! (ps I cant post smiley faces without link error stupid glitch!)
  12. Hey Joe sorry I have just noticed I am NOT signed into MSN right now. (Which isnt normal) but Its about 11am where I am and I haven't gone to sleep in almost 2 days (which is normal for me) but its hitting about that time now.. Perhaps I dont posses the vampire qualities I thought I did.. I will have more time tomorrow to help you out (and ill feel awake enough to be able to cohearently guide you through some things!) until then! GOOD NIGHT WORLD! (even though its light outside whoops)
  13. What I uploaded before was my idea.. This H and L text can be implemented together in a varies of different ways. That was just one way that stood out over the others..
