Alzer - out of interest, why do you always state how long it took you "Only 1 hour, only 30 minutes" etc. - is this the time it ought to take us to knock up a logo of this standard? If so then I feel like giving up

Two comments from me - I think the align:justify is letting you down a little in the buckets on the first pic. In the middle one the spacing inbetween the words is too big IMHO. Also - not entirely convinced by the headings that look like they're double stitched - have you any alternatives that you've tried? I guess for me they look a bit "low tech" if you see what I mean. I think the opposite to your friend - make the stiched headers like the solid "about us" one. I quite like the colour scheme actually, it's kinda different. Too many designers are actually ending up following "trends" because it's "cutting edge" (for about 3 minutes then it's passe) and without realising it ending up all looking the same - I think you ought to go here with what you think, maybe get advice on tweaking particular shades, or refer to one of those colour wheel/matching sites to tweak them slightly into place. Edit - maybe add a little more splash of colour example the blue of the header - here and there.

Get used to it - unfortunately what a lot of good designers fail to incorporate or understand is taste. They assume because they're the "designer" that everyone should share the same taste as them. It's similar to hairdressers - they can be as good as they want, but sometimes the "taste" factor or understanding of different tastes is missing in their skillset. For the record I didn't find the original colours depressing or sad. More "businesslike" I would have said. Dunno about the others but I am. Whether it's intentional or not I can't say. From your protests it would appear not if giving you the benefit of the doubt, in which case maybe you want to think about how you're coming across on your written word and how that might read to others. This is also a skill a designer can hae both in design and communication. What does "Lol" stand for then? It stand for "LAUGH out loud". Therefore it reads like you're laughing at him. Perhaps you should have written "I mean that in a lighthearted way" or something similar. Now it's my turn to laugh - Lol, it's funny when the arrogant posters on here start backpeddling furiously when actually challenged. Either that or they don't bother posting in that thread anymore.

You could have easily said something like "That one is a bit better but the typography needs a lot of work". Also - and here's an important point, why put "Lol" on the end? What exactly was the point of that? You actually find it necessary to laugh at it? Why? People who know more than other people "laughing" at them for not knowing as much as they do. Come on though, rallport WAS an idiot, that's why Craigpettit responded in the way he did. And respect has to be earned not demanded, you know that. I've no doubt you worked hard to get where you are, and am pleased for you, this is an uphill struggle. There's no need to "lay it on very thick" at all - I see nothing wrong with what Craigpettit has posted here. He's just struggling with a concept which'll no doubt suddenly click, and although I don't doubt your advanced abilities, I'm sure that you still come across (albeit more complex) problems than this which have the same effect on you. No? Someone hasn't had enough coffee today, methinks!

Yes, although Craigpettit - you might want to change "echo user_info" to "echo user_data" since the name of the function is actually "user_data" not "user_info". Nice to see you now helping the guy out in a patient and understanding way webdesigner93 .

Exactly. Perhaps look at some tutorials about how to display all the session variables you have stored and display them on every page in development so you can see at a glance what you've got. See what I mean Craigpettit? This is the kind of attitude I'm talking about. "noobs just don't like to hear the hard truth" - what a crock. "Noobs" need to learn. Just like you once did webdesigner93. In fact your post here webdesigner93 sounds like you're throwing your toys out of the pram a bit. Let me raise a point - part of being a good developer is to be able to explain simply and kindly to someone less knowledgable or advanced as you how to do something. Hence the word "development". We're all in this together. If you can't gently and clearly explain to a "noob" how to do something then you might want to question your own understanding. Being a good teacher and having a good attitude is a strong sign of your own ability. Think about that for a moment.

Nothing wrong with using SESSION to obtain the email address, just make sure when the dude logs in that you pull the email from the database upon logging in, then store it in the Session. The point is you have to actually have it in the session in the first place to be able to request it from the session. it goes : User logs in and is identified. At this point pull all the stuff you want to store in the session about them (Forename, email, etc.) from their row in the database table. Then you can call upon this session data on any page they go to without having to make any more database queries for it. For example : $_SESSION['email'] = $row['email'] - where $row is the row you pulled from the database table when his login was recognised. If you're having diffculty just look up sql requests, php sessions etc. and work your way through it slowly but surely.

Not sure about webdesigner93 but Rallport - yeah sure if he can lower himself from his higher echelon for long enough and your request is not "beneath" him and he doens't "judge" you to be an idiot sure you may get a bit of help. But as far as helping beginners though - if he deems your request unworthy, he'll sure be rude to ya. Seems to think he has the right to do this.

"If you don't have the mind to become a coder", "ur an idot" - well from someone who uses childish way of spelling "You're" i.e. "ur" - you webdesigner93 suddenly sound like a child and an idiot. Get used to it. Amongst all the pompous, self-satisfied, superior members on here, Rallport is probably one of the worst. Not exactly a friendly individual. Just ignore. Doesn't really give much help either, just criticises people really. What kind of response is that? Just help the guy, FFS. Self-satisfied ****. Correct. This is a place for people to HELP each other. Unfortunately Web designers and developers, and graphic designers in my experience can be extremely arrogant, self satisfied, pompous people (not all of them of course). They often have a "I know it and you don't and I ain't sharing" type attitude, probably stemming from insecurity. Rallport was with no doubt at the same rung of the ladder as you were at one point, probably copied scripts, and probably asked the same kind of questions. Rallport seems to have forgotten that, haven't you Rallport. webdesigner93 ain't much better either - ok so the guy ain't getting it, couldn't you have just pointed him towards some kind of tutorial rather than getting impatient with him? Sheesh - what is UP with you guys, never seen such self-satisfied arrogance in my life.......
