The logo looks great!! I only thought it reminded me of another logo when you said it. Before I read that far I did not think it was very familiar.

I think it's really good.

 

It reminds me of something, too, but I've got a feeling that might just be the sign of a good idea. Familiarity can not be a bad image for your company.

Jigsaw pieces are always good - task completion, problem solving, cognitive leaps, putting the pieces together etc etc, nice work

Looks great. I would use a different Font and Over the I make the Logo a smaller version and place it there aswell

Nice logo, if the shape is bitmap I would suggest you make it vector.

Try to give some saturation to the colors of your puzzle piece.

colors are not harmonized with each other... thin font is not looking good with the puzzles... font is sharp but the rest of your logo is blurry...

Why are you so negative about things? You've done this on a good few threads now. Give a little constructive criticism, rather than picking holes and putting his work down.

Viktor, I am grateful that you took the time to review my logo but I do agree with the others Re: constructive vs. destructive feedback. Thankfully I have a thick enough skin, but plenty of other designers (novices and pros alike) do not. It's not a matter of hurting feelings but rather that the (valid) criticism will easily be lost in the tone and attack, which doesn't do anybody any good.

 

Anyway. The issue with blurriness was mentioned and noted in Posts #3 and #4 last month. As I said back then, I'm looking into improving it. I'll take the rest of your feedback on board as well, although I quite like the colours and personally believe they work well together. My impetus for the concept was trying to avoid "typical" corporate website colours like blue and Web 2.0 green, as I'm quite sick of those.

As people have stated, instead of being directly rude about something, offer ideas of improvement.

Yes it's a fine line between honesty and offending somebody. I think honesty is very important, but I think how you communicate is what people end up hearing.

 

I think words like rubbish, crap - low marks out of 10 are much less helpful than "this would be much better if you did x/y/z"

oops - hope that wasn't aimed at me. No offence was meant to victorjanka in my last comment, just trying to lighten the tone.

And fine I will try to be more "constructive"... to fit to the forum...

I thought Viktorjanka was constructive and I actually agree. If you were trying something really rich and detailed then I believe there is more leeway, but with something simple, clean and basic you have to get it perfect... basically you can get away with more with something rich and detailed than you can with something clean and simple.

 

If you create a rich logo people will notice less of the flaws, make something clean then people will really notice the flaws. In many ways this type of logo is harder to pull off than a cinematic, rich, edgy logo.

 

 

Essentially, the problem here is that it just doesn't have that professional polish to it.....

 

 

The text itself is alright, it's quite sharp and impacting, but the puzzle graphic is fuzzy and not that well drawn. I personally think you should redraw the puzzle shapes more carefully, defining them more and ensuring they remain sharp.

 

Then I would then give them a little more depth as they look a bit... flat.

I've tried to make it sharper but it's always come out pixelated and looking worse as a result; anybody have any advice on where I'm going wrong here (I'm using GIMP)? I am strongly considering putting a slight blur on the text just so I don't have to deal with those darned puzzle pieces looking blurry anymore. j/k

 

BTW, Viktorjanka, apologies for messing up your name. I (wrongly) assumed Viktor was your first name and Janka was your last name. *Smacks head* I should have looked more closely.

That top left puzzle piece... how come it doesn't fit with the others? I mean, the sticky out bit and the cut-out bit, they don't match the other pieces.. was there reason for that?

i just curious...have all of you been expert in this field for a longtime??...cause i just felt that all of you are very sensitive and having so much attention for the detail....and i all can say is WOW! with hoping to be like all of you
