What's the best program to design logo's in?

Featured Replies

Ive noticed some really good logos on here that you guys have created.

What program do you think is the best?

I have only used Fireworks and im getting bored of it, what else would you suggest?

Hi Charlotte.

I use Corel Draw or/and Illustrator.

I would say illustrator as it uses Vectors. This can then be resized without losing resolution. :)

fireworks is vector based too of course, but illustrator is the daddy.

if you're getting bored though then i don't see how switching to illustrator would help you be more inspired ;)

Got to agree with Illustrator. At first it can be frustrating if your used to photoshop, but you'll soon get the hang of it

Illy for Vectoring logo's etc, then import into Ps for text etc. I used ill once to make a vector logo. Confusing, but a fantastic outcome.

I do most of my vectors in Photoshop, I just find the tools easier. Although theirs a lot of good vector tools in illustrator that aren't in Photoshop, so access to it is always useful.

best to create a vector based logo, you can scale it to any size and it gives much more flexibility of use. To create a vector graphic you need to use a program like Adobe Illustrator (that is the standard in the industry) However it might be quite expensive if you are freelance and not doing much of this sort of work so may wish to find a cheaper or open source alternative.

Its better to work with Vector Graphics than it is Bitmpa Graphics, As a vector has a better pixel arrnangment, wheras bitmaps are terrible for their pixel quality

Any vector based program, illustrator is the leading one. Vector is more versatile when it comes to printing.

Fireworks is a vector-based course, but the illustrator is the father. if you're tired though so I do not understand how the transition from illustrator to help you more influenced by

It can take time but if you can master the pen tool in illustrator you'll be able to create any logo you like.

The way I go about it is pencil and paper to scan or photograph then using illustrator to trace and use InDesign to put it together eg. letterheads etc.

Sketch Pad > Illustrator > Maybe Photoshop ( If you want to add any styles, backgrounds)
