Any vector based program, illustrator is the leading one. Vector is more versatile when it comes to printing.

£20 for a logo... would you really pay that little for something to represent your business and embody its values and services. Something that will appear on all your communication with clients and other businesses, a logo is much more than a meaningless badge it is the embodiment of your brand and values and in many circumstances it is the first point of contact for new customers. I like to think about it in the same way as one might think about buying a suit for work/business, would you spend £20 or at least £200?

I would agree with Brown2005 the footer is hard to read, the light colour and underline makes it a bit difficult. Just one other minor observation, the title is very similar to the menu options (close in size, typeface and colour) you may want to differentiate it a little more.

It was nice to see some hand rendered sketches in the original article, too often people reach for the mouse or tablet pen first.

psd version seems better, it is a bit off putting to be asked to submit your email address straight off without any information.

I'm going to be as impartial as I can in my answer. Word press actually recommend some webhosts for their software so you could look at those but I suspect you might pay a little over the odds. Basically you need to think about what your needs are, for word press you need some php hosting with a mysql database, in terms of space anything over 500mb is indulgent. In terms of bandwidth, really you need to think about how popular your blog will be, to begin with 1gb a month is more than enough. To conserve this you can host any video content on a major video sharing site and embed it in your blog (this is relatively simple) this will save some bandwidth if the content is video heavy. The best way to find what you are looking for is to read around or get a recommendation.

depending on the needs of the client it might also be better to have a maintenance contract if they require a lot of technical changes over the course of the year. It can be good to offer this as you get a stable amount for the year or per month and also the client gets more dedicated support (it should work out cheaper for them this way also)

if you can use a text link without compromising your design then it is best to do so.

I recognise the tactic of showing a few designs where you know the client will choose the one you have spent longer on and actually you want them to choose that one. The best clients want to be involved and to feel apart of the process, sometimes this is great and they feel in control by using their decision making skills but other times they get too involved and can't let go of the detail.

nice, personally I would loose the .co.uk on the site name that appears on its side on the right (not really necessary and looks a little uncomfortable with the uppercase name.)
