Enthused reacted to Warren Jerzyszek in What do you think? New logo.Hey, these look great! Good job, why limit yourself to just one, the branding of the EM looks solid so use 5 and probably 6. 5 is really good but 6 can be used where the proportions of 5 wont work.
Hope this has helped you choose dude!

This step is not necessary, though you can add some final effects to the logo. I've taken the logo into photoshop and added a simple grungey background and a gradient.

Enthused reacted to alzer81 in Logo Typography - Need Some Feedback!i think the concept is great. i feel you need to find a colour pallette to work off. i wouldnt be mad about the first idea with all the words within the logo. in my opinion it looks cluttered and kinda ugly. the second wversion is nice but i dont think its strong enough. also it wouldnt work on a light background. perhaps try build up some versions in a range of colours on a whit background?

Enthused reacted to mOxby Design in www.colouremotions.comI like this a lot - emotions and colour have so often been linked, so your data will prove interesting no doubt.
The only thing I spotted on my laptop was that when I have completed my answers, the link that says to view the result had slightly unclear and pixellated text - maybe just make that text bigger. Larger text will still be in keeping with the rest of of the site.
And good job, I like this.

If I were you I would a bit remake the background image - I'd make Big Ben tower more visible (as a significant and recognisable part of the beatiful London's landscape) and make the edges of the picture more blurred, more faded into the black background.

Enthused got a reaction from mattytwy in Enthused - Logo Design Process - Tutorial / InspirationHi everyone, i have decided to share my logo design process with you.
I have a friend who's starting his own kick boxing/martial arts classes, he needs a logo done and some leaflets.
Since he's a good friend i'm willing to do it for free, so I thought it would be a good chance to share the design process with this awesome forum.
Maybe some can learn from it or even help me improve.
So lets start.
The name: Renegades Kick boxing.
There is no other specific requirements he wants, so i can go and create what ever i want! Wooo!
When designing a logo the name plays a real part, some logos consist of just typography reflecting the name, so it's vital to do some research into the meaning of the name if there is one.
So...
Step 1: Research into the company, get a feel for what they do. Research into the name of the company and why they have chosen this name.
Definition of "Renegade":
someone who rebels and becomes an outlaw
rebel: break with established customs
deserter: a disloyal person who betrays or deserts his cause or religion or political party or friend etc.
recreant: having deserted a cause or principle; "some provinces had proved recreant"; "renegade supporters of the usurper"
Why did he chose the name renegades I wondered? "Because it sounded cool"
Ok then, onto step 2. Research...
Stay tuned if your interetsed!

Enthused reacted to BlueDreamer in SEO report toolsGood question! When you "optimise" a site for search engines it's all about catering for the needs of your visitors.
In the case of an online shop that means having a few key things in place:
1. An easy to understand method of navigation product categories/sections with short/relevent easy to read category/section names
2. Well written and useful product information
3. Relevent and useful support infomation
Of course the key is in what/how you write, the words you use and whether it's relevent to the needs of your customers. The idea is when the search bots come to crawl your site you'll have already included all the care words that your customers might look for. Once your pages start appearing on search listings you should (hopefully) see them including all your care words that your customers are looking for.
That is, in a nutshell, "SEO". Everything else is marketing and promotion.

Enthused reacted to bocaj in SEO report toolsIt depends what kind of site you have, and what the objectives are.
Subscription services would need to track different metrics to a publishing service.
Say you have a web host, some basic metrics you'd want to follow would probably be:
Bounce
Clickthrough
Sign up ratio
Customer Acquisition Rate
Customer Acquisition Costs
Customer Acquisition Ratio (ROI?)
etc. etc.
Normally a multitude of apps can be used to track various metrics, and excel is usually pretty good at crunching them together.
You first need to work out What metrics you need to track? Why? and how? SEO in a loose sense is just a form of marketing, you need to track the success of this single marketing avenue, the success of other marketing avenues, and the combined success.
Does that make sense?
-
Enthused reacted to BlueDreamer in SEO report toolsSome sort of "ROI" software for tracking your success targets, eg sales/conversions/signups etc, is always very useful.
Done properly, "SEO" is all about improving your sites performance, so you need a way to measure any improvements.
ROI/tracking software would also be useful for tracking the effectiveness of you marketing efforts, such as advertising, building backlinks and so on.

Enthused reacted to Frost Tear in New website to ReviewI also don't like the black, but if that's what the client wants, then that is what they shall get . Some other things I personally don't like:
The solid pink and white rounded rectangles as content 'holders' (for lack of a better word) look cheap and tacky. Maybe add a subtle gradient to them or something.
Just generally around the whole site there seems to be a lot of spacing and alignment issues. Things like images too close to text, not enough padding around text, etc.
I do like the background, and the layout is nice.
