October 20, 200916 yr Hey guys I'm not impressed with my host at the minuet, my site been offline for a week! Good job I'm allready employed by a digital agencey and my freelance website isnt my main point of income any more Otherwise I'd of starved the last week lol! Anyway, I was wondering who you guys have reseller accounts with?
October 20, 200916 yr If you avoid servers that have reseller account on then your more likely to get far better performance, uptime and reliability. We dont and will never dream of offering reseller accounts as its just not something that serious website owners want to shred a server with.

All domains are still on the server and can still cause problems unless the server is properly secured and configured.

October 20, 200916 yr From past experience, resellers are the ones which cause problems. That's a bit of a generalisation don't you think? Not all resellers cause problems, just the amateur ones
October 20, 200916 yr That's a bit of a generalisation don't you think? Not all resellers cause problems, just the amateur ones Maybe, I'm not trying to say all resellers are a problem, but in comparison to customers with a shared hosting package, Resellers appear to be the ones who cause most of the problems.
October 20, 200916 yr I'd be interested to know if these resellers offer the "unlimited" thing and/or ridiculously low prices... doing that they'd attract a certain type of end customer...
October 20, 200916 yr Author Have'nt had any problems with the guys before, haven't herd anything since it was ment to be put up witch was Sunday as far as I'm aware, I'm not slating them as there usually pretty good but I can't get through to them. No it's not one of them unlimited ones so I'm not that 'certain type of customer' or (basically an idiot?) you are referring too. My site got DDOS Attacked over a week ago I was told 'as a guester of goodwill' they will re-up my site, guester of good will pfft.

From what I have observed over the last 5 years or so, ever since reselling became affordable to everyone... Unfortunately, there are a lot of resellers who buy a cheap reseller plan then set up shop as a "web host" offering the world for "1.99 a month" - typically they set up automated payments and account creation but rarely (if ever) monitor server usage and so on. This in turn has a trendency to attract a certain type of customer who will typically install insecure scripts or abuse server resources and spoil the fun for other accounts on the same server. This is just the way things are sometimes

October 20, 200916 yr Hi Luke, Your site has been re-activated - it was last night. Please understand that when a site gets hit with a DOS attack we have to run investigations to find out how it could have happened. We did re-enable your account however when it got hit a second time the other day, it was suspended again because we have to protect the integrity of the other clients whose accounts reside on that server. We cannot just keep resetting bandwidth when these things happen even if it is out of your control for the reasons stated in my PM. We have also now upped your bandwidth by an additional 4GB at no cost to yourself. The origins of the DOS were found, abuse reports etc have been sent and the IP addresses have been blocked.
October 20, 200916 yr From past experience, resellers are the ones which cause problems. depends on your definition of problems. A well setup server causes no more problems with resellers than it does with single domains. Are you talking about support, billing, resource usuage etc etc??
October 21, 200916 yr depends on your definition of problems. A well setup server causes no more problems with resellers than it does with single domains. Are you talking about support, billing, resource usuage etc etc?? Yes, a well setup server will cause no more problems with resellers compared to shared hosting customers, however, from my experience, it's usually the resellers with the higher CPU and RAM usage etc. As BlueDreamer said, a lot of resellers sell the world for £1.99 a month, as quite frankly, a lot of them don't know what they're doing.
October 22, 200916 yr In my old company, they used to use Fasthosts as a reseller provider, they were decent in my view.
