  1. MY style is clean and easily readable... but I go by my customers' styles when doing their sites ;-)
  2. I use Paint Shop Pro 8 (and occasionally 7). I like it, but I never had a chance to get used to Photoshop, so PSP works great for me
  3. That's great! Thank you for the links. I'm looking forward to using this!
  4. PC. We own GameBoy Advance, but I like the PC controls better.
  5. By "landing page" do you mean the first page people will see when they come to your site? I'm not familiar with the term.
  6. We have customers who use oscommerce. It works. Your best bet is probably to look around and find one that works how you like and see what they're using.
  7. I go to the main site, also. I'm not sure how one would get people to use their "store" over going to the main site. That's a good question.
  8. I like Paint Shop Pro also. It's currently put out by Corel (but originally Jasc). It does pretty much everything that Photoshop (by Adobe) can do, but is more user-friendly.
  9. That looks great!! Very professional. Excellent job!
  10. I've tried using CSS for a site, now. I think I like it! It looks good in IE and Firefox; I haven't any other browsers in which to check it.
  11. What software are you using on your server? Is it a Linux, Windows, ...? That will help people know how to help you.
  12. oh---kay... very weird LOL! To each his own, I suppose. Pretty well done... but very odd subject matter!
  13. Generally that would be done using an iframe... but even then, I'm not sure that the outside scrolling and the inside *not* scrolling would be possible. I'll be watching to see, though!
  14. I use an email encryptor -- still sends email but is unintelligible to the spiders.
  15. Is that how that horrible stuff gets there? I'm relieved to know a human isn't doing that!
  16. I think I've read that css layouts load more quickly than tables, but I'm not positive. Hopefully someone with more experience/knowledge will answer.
  17. Blinking. Excessive animation. Repetitive sound bites. Clashing colors - especially when the text becomes unreadable.
  18. I haven't, because I don't really see the point. It seems to me that the .mobi tld is best used by companies like Cingular and T-Mobile, and maybe the ringtones people.
  19. I haven't tried Picasa. I use Corel's Paint Shop Pro (currently using PSP7 and PSP9, from when they were Jasc) for my graphic editing, and I store them on my own hard drive.
  20. My husband generally prefers royal blue in there somewhere. He claims it "exudes security" and people will tend to "trust" the site more. I like variety. There are bright, garish colours that I avoid, but in general I will use any color that seems to "fit" the person or company for whom I'm designing.
  21. Yes, it is a .png file. The shadow is a transparency in the .png file. You can see here where I was looking at it in my graphics program:
