I have recently used this site to get the Scrolling Effect I just increased the duration to around 1800 to smooth out the effect.

I'd agree with banksy. The footer is particularly hard to read due to the contrast.

I think it's down to the images on the site. Most of the images on the homepage are over 300kb each. Try optimising them for the web by lowering the quality (if necessary).

PC every day for me. You get more bang for your buck with a PC (especially if you build one).

What do you guys think of single page web sites that have the vertical scrolling effect on (Mootools for example). I'm thinking of using it for one of my sites. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to using this type of layout? Are there any issues with SEO? I'm thinking of it as I want to show off work but don't have much content - intro, contact details, etc I saw a really nice example recently (some dutch design company) but can't remeber where so I don't have a link for it. But from what I can remember it was a mix of flash and css.

Could do with a bit more spacing between the navigation links. Nice looking site though.

I mean not have the background, header and footer. Just have that bit as the site outline. I think it could look really good as the tabs will stand out a bit more and the nice outline would make more of an impact.

I agree with the header and footer. I'm not fussed on the layout of the form - I don't like where the submit button is. Think it should be to right of message. Also the size of the form is a liitle too big. Really like the centre part. Would this not be better as the site itself?

If all you want to do is have a rollover effect on a menu then this can be done pretty easily using the a:hover I would built your menu using the <ul> & <li> tags and the styling it using CSS. Here is an example and tutorial

Windows XP for me. Can't stand Vista and Macs are too expensive for what you get. Although I do like the idea of dual booting Windows and Mac os on the Macs.

Could do with the content having a different colour background to the page background.

I like the site allot. I think you have done a great job. I like the guy in the corner. However after navigating back to the home page a few times it got a little annoying. Maybe you could do a check to see if the user has previously visited the page and have something else or something with no sound. Another option would be to have it so the sound only plays when you mouse over like some banner adverts do. Good site though

I would personally concentrate on using divs for the layout and loosing the frames instead of worrying about the iframe issue. But I'm sure there will be someone on here that will know more about iframes than me.

It is normal practice to have a banner ad restart/refresh it's self on every page. What if you have more than one banner? Then you would need to force the banner to change at some point. Look at any website with banners on and you will see that every page reloads the banner or pulls in a new one. A couple of things to note: Learn how to use divs to build your site not tables. Why are you using frames? Use an external style sheet. Your pointing to background images on a 'C' drive. This will not work as I don't have the image on my 'C' drive. You need the path to the image on your server. I'm not sure how to fix your problem with the iframe as I haven't had the pleasure of using them for a while. What I would say though is if you built the site without using frames then the problem wouldn't exist.

^ I agree a CSS based navigation would be much better than javascript one. You can then use an include to put it on you page so that it can be amended easily.

You can use includes in an HTML page. Save the file as .shtml so that server knows to parse it gets sent. This site explains in more detail. Hope it helps

You can play around with the matte colour to reduce or remove the border. If you are using a gradient on the edge of the image (say a drop shadow) then there will be little you can do to remove the 'border'.

Got into work this morning and was ambushed by one of the managers. Basically he wanted to take a layout for a web site I built and adapt it for a couple of pages in a magazine. I went on to explain that I have little to no knowledge of print and that I would have to pretty much start from scratch as everything that I did was not high enough quality to print. We have 10 or so magazine/print designers and I am the only web designer they have in Wales. So why the hell is he asking me to do it. Not as though I didn't have anything better to do, after all I just sit in the corner playing around with the internet!! Stupid idea anyway.

I'm not into hiphop myself but he buttons used for the navigation don't look very hiphop-ish. Same with the headers. I would also say that the text can be quite difficult to read. It looks like most of the key elements (navigation, headers, text, etc) is made up of images, which means it will perform very poorly with seo.
