New Site Launch
I'm not sure on the images down the size. It may just be me but it makes me feel dizzy. The buttons on this page are pretty big in file size (about 32k each) and take an age to display. I would suggest ditching them and replace with text. You can style them pretty similar using css. I think the labels on the contact form should be the other side.

FTP Programs
I think I've missed the point of ftp software. I don't see the need for it as your OS can handle it. In my eyes yet another needless piece of software. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Which Web Development Software Do You Use?
Dreamweaver for me, I'm lazy too.

Localhost
Not sure if this helps but I think it is a permissions issue - on the wwwroot folder you need to allow the Internet Guest User account (IUSER?) access. I had a similar problem with IE and this worked for me. The password that Firefox is asking for is your windows logon.

PC spec
The problems that I have heard with the P5 is stability. http://www.custompc.co.uk/reviews/125932/asus-p5kc.html and some of our IT boys in work have had problems. I'm not up on motherboards (haven't got a clue really). I think I'll have to read some more reviews. I want to do some 3d work as well so I thought that the newer graphics cards would suit.

PC spec
I want/need to build a new PC as my current one is not long for this world. As I keep my PC for a good number of years (6 years on my current one) I want something towards the high end. I am going to build it myself but just want some opinions/recommendations. Spec so far - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66GHz 12MB-cache (1333FSB) Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB 10000RPM SATA-II 16MB Cache Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Asus GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 Asus DRW-2014L1T 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter Coolermaster RC-1000 Cosmos Case Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU + decent sound card I was looking at the Asus P5 motherboards due to them accepting both DDR2 & DDr3 RAM, but after reading some reviews I have been put off. Any recommendations? I will be running XP on it for now until Windows 7 comes out (hate Vista). I understand that the 32bit version of XP cannot address more than 3.2GB of RAM - worth going to 64bit? Thanks in advance.

The best Mouse to use?
I got a Logitech MX Revolution - great mouse and it's really comfortable. Wasn't cheap though (£80 when I bought it).

Which is the best Pc company
I vote for Dell - had mine for 6 years now. Really need a replacement as it's a bit leggy, but has been faultless from day one. I agree Alienware rip you off - if you are going to build something with those sorts of spec then it has to be a DIY job.

Please review my site
I have fixed the issue with the footer - tested on IE 6 & 7, FF, Safari and Opera on the PC. Don't have access to a Mac until tomorrow. It was a simple fix - just needed to set clear on the footer to 'both'. PureDezigner I have made the changes that you pointed out. Thanks for all your comments.

Criticism?
I would agree with bumfluff (nice name btw). I would also add that the site seems slow to load and could do with a loading bar or some sort of pre-loader. The portfolio page in particular takes a while to get going. I find flash sites like this very tiresome to use and not very nice to read. At the end of the day your trying to get your message/product/service across.

Map Of Great Britain
Flash would be your best option. If you can't get your head around Flash (like me) then try Swish Max 2. That's what I use if I have to do anything Flash based.

I think you mean drawers. Here an example of what you mean (I think) - www.snubcommunications.com/iceland/iceland-old.html

How to keep a website tidy
I try to keep my structure as shallow as possible. I think it looks better in the address bar and search engine crawlers don't like deep folder structures. I usually have: /images /notes (bits and pieces I make a note of while building a large site) /styles /psd

Please review my site
Any more feedback? Anyone?

Please review my site
Yeah I've got to fix that. I didn't have access to a Mac when I was building it. Thanks for reminding me. PureDezigner - Do you mean on the portfolio page? Thanks for the feedback guys.

List of Recommended Web Design and Development Books
My favourite has to be CSS Zen Garden. Amazing how different a site can look by applying a different CSS style to a common template. Some of the designs are fantastic - especially like the grass one (can't remember the name of the design). Just bought Transcending CSS looking forward to reading it.

What Camera do you have
I got my first DSLR about 6 months ago just before I went to the Swiss Alpes. Went for the 450D with the stock 18-55 mm lens. Bought a 70-300 mm lens the other - not the best lens you can buy (not paying silly money) but I absolutely love it.

A noobie question about css...
My Mac Book doesn't have a '#' either. As you said it's probably because it's a condensed keyboard.
