  1. Many thanks for the resource hookup! - Nemo
  2. Thank you Can you recommend any particular reads? - Nemo
  3. So I'm looking into learning to code mobile apps from scratch, wondering if someone can point me in the right direction in terms of software (Open source if possible!) and a good place to start. Please don't suggest I use ibuildapp or something like that because it would be "easier", would really like to go from scratch! Thanks! Nemo
  4. If I'm correct you're probably talking about Linier and Radial Gradients. Linier gradients are where a gradient goes left to right, top to bottom, across from one point to another in one way or another. Radial gradients are where you have kind of a circular gradient to or from the middle. Hope this helps! - Nemo
  5. College and University is about self study. If you don't know what you're doing it's because you haven't put the outside effort in. I don't want to sound too harsh, but you can't blame your teacher not being around, you should have taken the initiative and come here earlier asking for help and links to tutorials and not waited until the day before your project is due! Lesson learned! (Hopefully). - Nemo
  6. All I see is the blue banner at the top! - Nemo
  7. Looks pretty much but there's a lot going on on the home page. People don't really respond well to cluttered websites. Maybe make the content bigger and spread it down the page? - Nemo
  8. Not a bad looking site, Google Translator messed it up a little for me too! (In chrome). - Nemo
  9. I don't think removing www would affect SEO at all. If you're looking to remove the directories in the domain name, you're looking at doing a framed redirect. Some hosts provide this service for free. - Nemo
  10. Have a look at Google Geolocation. I'd link but can't do it yet! - Nemo
  11. Opencart is the one for me! Simply because when it's done, the client finds it really easy to use and doesn't have to keep calling me every 5 minutes! - Nemo
  12. Check out Sams Teach Yourself PHP, Mysql & Apache. Some of the coding practices aren't great but a fantastic reference, my bible, it goes everywhere with me! - Nemo
  13. Hey! I have a client who basically deals with printer support contracts. I've been trying to find a joomla extension which will basically assign some kind of support contract, or products etc for a set amount of time so he can have a database of customers and they can log in and see what support contract they have. Sorry if I'm not making it clear! - Anyone know of anything? Thanks - Nemo
  14. Ah! Brilliant Thanks a billion! - Nemo
  15. Hey WDF, We're just about to properly expand into mobile design and was looking for some advice. A friend of mine uses Artisteer a lot for some of his low budget jobs, and was showing me the way it automatically "mobilizes" depending on the screen size, which is OK I guess but I don't like the idea too much on it changing just depending on what size the screen is. Can anyone recommend any good articles on detecting and changing the website if it's loaded on a mobile / tablet / computer. So I can build 3 websites in effect which will be different depending on what its loaded on. Thanks! - Nemo

I'm a Mac user, simply because my background is music, and Logic Pro is Mac specific, makes a nice design platform too - Nemo
  17. Much appreciated, I'll take a look and see if it fixes the problem! Thanks! - Nemo
  18. Yeah I had the Production Premium 5.5, so when I signed up they gave it to me cheaper:) - Nemo

www . youtube . com/watch?v=pndJhzmAQCc (Sorry I can't post links yet) I always find video tutorials helpful, this takes you through the basics - Nemo
  21. Def worth it, and Tax deductible of course - Nemo
  22. It's a little cheaper if you already have something Adobe - Nemo
  23. Hey! This is a bit of a strange one as i've never actually had this problem. (Sorry mods for linking but its an issue I need to solve!) My home site penguin-media .co .uk works fine on everything, except in Chrome, specifically the Mac version of Chrome. Take a look at the 3 blue boxes on the home page, the "full features" and cost seem to be pushed up, but only in Chrome on a Mac! It's a bit nuts so was wondering if anyone could figure out what's going on here? Much appreciated! - Nemo
  24. Cyberduck is nice and simple, does the job well, and the FTP connection is locked to my IP address only so its a secure(er) connection - Nemo
  25. I think the "Cloud" bit refers to the online services, you have the actual programs installed on your computer as normal. If you're not on the net it still works as normal, but usually pops up with the 30 day demo, so in theory you only have to actually connect to the internet every 30 days They say you're in a 12 month contract, but a friend of mine cancelled his subscription about 7 months ago and all they did was cut him off, I don't think they can enforce it / not worth it. Also, if you're vat registered you don't have to pay the VAT either - Nemo But yeah, £2,500 is a lot to pay out, and most don't have that "spare cash" laying around.
