Dear Designers,

I need your critique, most importantly not just critique but ... advice, and some nice healthy comments. and general thoughts too...

I'm developing this online survey, as a major project research in colours and emotions.

Later i'm planing to visualise in information design, whole collected information, data- from this website.

Colour emotions www.colouremotions.com

As you are designers guys, its is important for me - what you would think, and what you want to see after this survey?

what kinds of data is more important for visualising,f or designers?

so, designers are the audience for this project, and if i know what you think, i could possibly have better chances of making it more useful.

maybe to see the relationship between emotions and colours, but not just primary coloures, but all coloures with its 7 different shades. or maybe to see just genders and their comparison? or ...

Thanks

Nikoloz

not sure if there's anything critical to say, it works really well, simple to use, looks good and very interesting.

Very nice indeed :). If I had to make criticisms... some of the text gets cut off on that 'click to compare results' text after the quiz, and the font's a bit meh on the same text. Oh, and normally I hate full flash sites, but it works very well in this application.

Good work!

Thank you guys for your comments, it is really appreciate.

Everything that has been said here, will be taken on to account, for further improvements.

Thanks

Cool slick site.

If I had a criticism it would be that I lost interest when asked differnt questions and faced with the same grid of colours.

Perhaps if you could sligly changed the colour grid (orientation perhaps) on each question, so that the transistion between questions is defined.

Sorry man, I just want the world.

Great site though and very impressive.

Very nice. :) I had a connection error when I went to compare results? also, I picked a wrong colour and had to doo all over again? Wasn't sure how to remove colour?

Very slick, wasn't expecting to see that. It's nice to be surprised.

I would agree with the earlier comment about the repetitive nature of the task. I've no idea how you would get round that though.

But that is a small criticism on otherwise excellent site. :D

It works well enough and is easy to use.

If I had to pick out criticism then I'd echo what others have said:

1. Compare results text is difficult to read

2. Some definition between questions

3. Inability to go back

One a note on its usefulness, I see what your trying to do and know a bit about this topic, but I think some of the questions are less than perfect (I was thinking at the time of answering if the question was a good one - as in I selected a colour for the sakes of selecting a colour) and the results comparison matched with that, with colours all over the place, lacking a real dominant colour.

It might also be good to compare cultures, as culture does have a reflection on colour preception.

Thank you all for your posts,

I still need to go back to change few details in survey, but for now i'm trying to defin what is importnat to say, and how to say, i mean visualising final page results.

so can you please feedback on this image

Thanks

The site is superb. As a design, I think it's hard to fault as it is so different to any other survey I've seen and you've done a great job.

I would like to see a breakdown of figures at the end as well as the visual communication of where the votes have been cast for each question.

I like the image of your results, maybe the colours could be square blocks of colours?

Thanks for feedback, do you mean by square blocks, just rectangulares to be more squarish, or whole image?

DesignCommunication

can you tell me bit about that? i mean what you exactly want to see?

is that information is not enough? i mean my last image, comparing each genders, culture and ages in one image? and 12 separate images for 12 emotions.

is that what you mean? or you want to see something else? it is important to hear your comments.

Thanks

Nik

Hi guys again,

Thank you all for your priceless comments, now project has moved on forward, and probably some of you will be really interested in this.

please check it out again at www.colouremotions.com and click - visualising results.

Please if any suggestions, thoughts or ideas comment here. :))

Best

Nik

I like this a lot - emotions and colour have so often been linked, so your data will prove interesting no doubt.

The only thing I spotted on my laptop was that when I have completed my answers, the link that says to view the result had slightly unclear and pixellated text - maybe just make that text bigger. Larger text will still be in keeping with the rest of of the site.

And good job, I like this.

Just had a go on the site and I must say it's very well done :) I think the interface and transitions are great. It's a nice, clean design and simple to use. The only negative thing I would say perhaps, as others have, is the inability to go back. But this is a minor issue. Good job mate.

Jay

I like the image of your results, maybe the colours could be square blocks of colours?

I mean like square blocks starting smaller and getting to the normal size closer to the middle? :)
