A shame it's largely lies...

I think Google+ is a rubbish social network BUT an incredible tool for SEO. Have to say I *LOVE* the author posts in results as well. We have also tested with +1'ing of pages and strongly believe that this should be a massive consideration for any e-commerce store. Some very interesting results from our experiments mind.

^This is gold. It's sad but true, keyword rich domains do work well. You should take a look at keyword rick sites to be outliers to your company's main site though. ^^Florin You should always use [exact] match if you are taking numbers form Google Keywords Tool. A quick look at it tells me total traffic for each of the following keywords looks something like this: [driving lessons york] 480 [york driving lessons] 36 [york driving instructors] 28 [driving instructors york] 140 [driving instructors in york] 58 [driving lessons in york] 170 [driving lessons york uk] 22 [cheap driving lessons york] 22 Bearing in mind if you are first for any given term you might see about a 21% CTR then some of these terms suddenly may only get you 4/5 clicks per month *IF* you were first. Then consider if it is worth spending £500p/m on SEO and getting to the top for those terms. Or whether its worth spending that money elsewhere. Just saying...

I have opted to only ever have one client in each vertical. The way I see it is; 2 clients competing is a conflict of interests. 3+ clients competing is a specialism. Depends on your business, but you have to be open with both clients from the outset regardless.

^^ BTW Google Webmaster Tools is getting better and better these days. You should really check it out, it's a great addition to Google analytics.

Whatever you do, if this is the level you are at don't go and play with xrumer. Honestly you'll get your sites banned from Google. It's a great tool, but you gotta know what you are doing and use it strategically.

Article submission is probably what you would be looking for if you want it. I've been testing some things recently which prove that this style of "automated/outsourceable" link building certainly works in the short term. We still advocate mixing up a range of tactics for longer term scalability especially on more competitive keywords. @shaneo85 if you want to discuss further DM me^^ Ideally though, you get to a point where all else being equal that the content you create is what gains you the most inlinks and easiest kind of linkbuilding there is.

Yeah, that link is pretty poor. I wouldn't get too hung up on Page Rank though (Neil, I'm pretty sure you have an old definition of value there although I take your point.) Sometimes link velocity can be enough to achieve some good results - although only likely to ever be a short term fix at best. Crappy links tend to work best when you already have some great links pointing towards your site. (As a side note, I really don't advocate crappy links - its worth knowing that that they often can and do work in the short term)

THIS. IS. GOLD. Do this. It'll turn around your cashflow, as young freelance guys will know, this is vital to keeping on. Also offer coupons/discounts for future business/recommendations.

Have seen some smarter uses of this software. It's not all about the spamming. Problem is with software like this people take the easy option with big numbers. My advice is, if you don't know exactly what you are doing STAY THE HELL AWAY.
