  1. Could always use your newly found spare time to learn how to do it yourself.
  2. Ha yeah or a Frenchman with an incredibly large Adam's apple.
  3. I sent you a message +1 Pete
  4. It's not quite slow enough for a beginner and as RD said your'e using terms that are unfamiliar to a beginner. I am currently learning Php (at very early stages) so if you like I'd be happy for you to use me as a test subject if you like.
  5. Not sure it will help or not with your problem but you haven't closed your head tag or the last self closing link tag.
  6. I'm trying to find a thread from a fair while ago where RenaissanceDesign helped me with something that I want to refer back to but you can only goes back as far as October 2011 is there a way to look back further than this?
  7. Funny how your health improves dramatically when you become self-employed isn't it.
  8. Pretty normal I'm afraid. A lot of small companies will say sick pay is discretionary. Public Sector companies tend to be the most generous when it comes to sick pay - I think teachers get 26 weeks full pay and 26 weeks half pay!
  9. 2 minutes I reckon......

Hey man take it easy! I was simply posting a screen grab of a dental advert at the foot of the thread to the op.

Hey man the solution was right here all along buddy.
  14. When you say 'they' I assume you mean google. The meta description is not for google to read and increase your position in SERPS it is so users can see a list of links with a description about each site below. If the webmaster has not included a meta description then google will make its own up based on a snippet from the page. However it is better for the webmaster in many cases to make up their own description so as to serve as a better hook to get users to chose your link over your competitors. It has absolutely nothing to do with manipulating search results. Again don't put meta description and meta keywords in the same bracket they are totally unrelated. Keywords are not used by google as a ranking factor anymore and so serve zero purpose (although recently they may be making mini comeback for news sites?). If some people believe that paying attention to meta keywords may help obtain better search engine positioning they are wrong.

Me and my mate were chatting tonight about selling his iPhone 4 as he is about to get his iPhone 5 as his contract has just run out. We looked on eBay and saw this: IPHONE 4 16gb NO SIGNAL/FAULTY. IN MINT CONDITION. so here we have a phone that doesn't work, in perfect condition but you can't use it as a phone.... Current bid £132.00 Number of bids 29!!!!!! Time remaining 9 hours!!!!! And the best bit is these 29 bidders want it so much they are even prepared to pay £6 for SECOND CLASS post. ffs

does it help if you remove the name attribute from the links?
  17. Welcome to the forum ell Your situation is similar to mine in that I have a totally unrelated almost full time job, and a young family. The way I see it is I'll try to keep picking up new skills and continue to keep playing around with stuff and if it leads to anything then great if not its one heck of a nice hobby to have! I also wonder if it would become less enjoyable if it became my day job and there was pressure to get the work to pay the bills. I'm currently in the process of learning php to go with what I've learned about html & css - Tried to learn js but found it a bit tough going so will revisit that once i'm into php a bit more. Once I've learned those I plan to take on the world
  18. There is no way I guess other than to make your page as brilliant as possible showcasing work and hope that your fans ignore the shady approaches.
  19. I think your homepage is really letting down the rest of your site which looks really focused on its purpose where as the homepage looks too much like a flyer with some meaningless intro text. More usefull info on the homepage and less big spaces between lines to fill a gap.
  20. Signed up! The text for steps 1, 2 & 3 is an image (Select Topics and Frequency, etc) and you can tell its an image as its not as sharp as the rest of the text on the page. Seems like quite an easy one to fix.
  21. Hey first thing I noticed was 'NO HIDDEN CHARGES JUST ADD VAT' Which may come over as a little confusing as the visitor then has to take in the price and add 20% which they or may not be able to do. Maybe better to just quote prices from £x with VAT already added?
  22. Fancy another order Fran ? Would make a nice little bday or Xmas present for my gf. I totally ignored the part about getting too many orders
