  6. I have to be honest: the code we use has been incredibly liberating. Granted it's a little more work to render three vid files, but not having to worry about OS/Browser versions is great. We tested with every os/browser combination we could find or create and - if the device could play video - it played the video stack. And delivering platform independent video to clients is financially lucrative. Which is the only reason to do any of it. If you scoffed at HTML5 video before it's worth a second look.
  7. I totally understand the hobbies/obsessions thing. I started doing this stuff when Mosaic was the new/cool browser. I was designing reactor plants back then and my hobby slowly took over. So, yes, I've used marching ants borders and paisley backgrounds. Maybe not since 1995, but I used 'em. Good luck and have fun with it.
