I'm working on a website, the idea is pretty basic, to create a very easy to use and intuitive website/blog that people could scroll through at a breeze through on their mobile, tables or pc's. I was thinking about using one post at a time kind of page, where you'd click next, however not sure how well that would fit into mobile screens, so currently I have this scroll through posts thing going on. http://www.funny-cats.co.uk So I'm wondering what you guys thing of the design of the website, the way its layed out, colours, functionality? August 7, 201412 yr Well you've got the mechanics down it would seem. So all that's left is to work the actual design. I'm not sure why some of your posts are in a huge orange band. It's very jarring to see in contrast to the rest of your homepage. I think though that the nature of your site means its always going to look a bit disjointed. All you can really do is reduce the amount of empty space of each post and even then you risk creating something cluttered. There are refinements to be made but I think generally, working with your subject matter, you're always going to run into some design problems.
August 7, 201412 yr Interested concept.. Anyway I agree with Williams about the space. It feels a bit more than needed, but only a bit. Also you need to make the Google+ link more visible. Why not put it on the sidebar and use images? I wouldn't have really noticed it if it wasn't for the motivate of assessing the design. Edited August 7, 201412 yr by saroyy
August 7, 201412 yr Nice site; well built and nice and responsive (not to mention excellent material) but i have to agree about the space. I was just having a play with it and i tried reducing the bottom margin on img.aligncenter (5px auto 0px), removing the paragraph break after the graphics description and there seemed to be a nice consistent spacing between the elements. Also after that possibly adding a small subtle HR underneath each post would look nice and help to separate the posts? A great link to get nice looking HRs is http://css-tricks.com/examples/hrs/. Hope this doesnt offend, just throwing in my 2 cents worth! Some of those pictures are genius
