February 14, 201412 yr Hello world! I made a portfolio website and I like to get some feedback from you guys! I have to point out that I have no much experience, so please don't be rude Thank you! Here's the link: http://www.itm.com.hr/
February 18, 201412 yr Hey, I like your concepts and your use of JQuery. I do feel the site lacks finesse and style. I would keep the layout and ideas you have as they are effective but you need to focus on refining the site by making it more appealing visually. There are also a few spacing issues and certain elements clash such as the contact form background. If you are going for a 'modern' style you need to keep the whole site modern looking. Your coding is not too bad... Overall, it's a good starting point with potential but more work/time is required to bring it up to scratch and to refine it. I hope this helps. February 19, 201412 yr Author Thank you @danieljoseph! You want to say that the contact form is old style comparing to the other elements? Maybe you're right. I did work a lot on that web page, but you always learn and have to improve yourself! That's what I'm gonna do! What do you suggest?
February 20, 201412 yr Yes you're right... i'm on a steep learning curve too. I'm currently realising the link between design and psychology. Making it clear which elements take priority on a site is key to a good design. Many colours represent things that we associate with everyday life i.e. red = alert, white = clarity/calmness etc. Giving a button a colour that stands out such as yellow or pink, like you have done instantly draws attention to that element. If you draw attention to the right areas of your design at the right time this becomes a very effective way of manipulating the user to perform certain actions such as contacting you or finding out more information about a product/service. Anyway, i wont bore you... but thats what i'm learning. My suggestion would be to not have a contact form background at all... unless you have a good reason for it to be there.
