I was recently assigned to work on SEO for our websites.

We have about 220 websites, and most of them have thin content, and link to each other.

One of our website (I would call it site "A" here) used to be Number 1 on certain keywords.

 

We lost our ranking in November 2012.

Our site A had been around 150 to 240 for a while.

 

I have started removing backlinks from web directories.

Last week we found most of our websites are out of top 500. Even site A.

Now we have only 5 or 6 of them in the top 500.

 

I have checked webmaster tools, we have no message received, no majour crawl errors.

 

I would like to know what happened. Could anyone give me any suggestions?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, if this is true, nearly a year before doing anything is wrong.

 

However, it could be anything. Thin content, bad links, Google has found you're linking all your websites togehter etc. I would suggest Google has found out your websites are linked together, along with bad content and a very thin backlink profile (just guessing) your websites have bombed

I am not sure what to do, I can only think of whatever Google suggests.

I would reduce number of websites, and make sure each of them have original and unique contents.

 

I am worried about using Goodle Disavow Tools now. I wonder if I did it and submitted a reconsideration request, there would be much less number of links, and it might harm the websites staying in the first page.

Don't do any reconsideration request or disavowing at all. You haven't been hit with a penalty.You need to add more content and look at building quality links

Thanks, how about links from websites in the same server? "Site A" has many links from other websites we have.

That would be very limited. Try to get backlinks from as many high quality domains as possible.

No we don't have it on the website.

However we have affiliates who use our quote and buy system.

Disavowing all bad links. Work more on your thin content and try to build quality links.

I would like to know more about ablysoft expert? I googled for it and I found a web design company, who don't mention about SEO consultation...?
