New Responsive Prototype...

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Would like your opinion on the home page prototype of this custom HTML5/CSS3 WordPress theme I'm building for a client.

I'm currently working on the responsive elements for the home page before I move on to the rest of the pages but I would love your opinions so far. Please bare in mind it's not a completed website as of yet. Cheers.

Decent.

But...the break points are weird. At over 1000px wide, it's still displaying like you'd expect for portrait mobile use.

I also find the combination of a strong background image and textures a little strong.

Other than that, good work.

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I'm still working on the responsive side of things. Should be done in a couple of days.

Do you think I should blur the background further?

There seems to be an issue with your social buttons in the header. They disappear once it gets down below 700px. Your twitter handle link is hard to see also, it's almost the same blue as the background it's on. Looks nice otherwise.

Yes, that was something that I was aware of and I'm already in the process optimising the performance. Pretty much there now, just need to set expire headers and few other bits when it goes live.

The site has huge performance issues. I would work on optimizing the images and the code.

By the way, when you say optimise the code what do you mean precisely please. Also, what specific performance issues have you noticed. I've optimised pretty much everything I can for the moment so I would appreciate your insight on this. Thanks.

good design and looks good...

Just increase some more text content for your site...

Yeah, I'm working on the responsive bits through the coming week. None of it is 'really' responsive yet.
