Steps needed to create Classified Web site.

Featured Replies

Hello people.

I hope i am posting in the correct part of the Forum as i am new to the site.

Anyway....

I am looking to make a classified Ad website and have started to research on the best way to get one made, but it all seems a little too confusing.

Please can someone go through what i would need to do to get one set up in stages? Maybe someone has a link to some decent ready made script sites, and decent U tube tutorials so i can at least start research the task more.

Also what kind of Web devloper should i be looking to employ to make this kind of site, or if i went down the Ready made script route (which in my opinion is the best way) could i get a site up and running myself?

Also does anyone possibly know any companies, or freelancers in the Hampshire\Southampton area that they have had sucsess with creating a similar project.

I would really appreciate any help. I am at the early stages and just want to find out what my options are?

I have a good idea of what i want and have already started designing how i want it to function, i just need help with getting it up and running.

Thank you for the help in advance guys.

Hi, i built this a while a go

http://www.fishclassifiedsuk.co.uk

its very basic,

1) login / register

2) a simple cms to insert / update / delete adverts in a database database

Ok so say i bought one of these scripts. What additional software or payments would i need to get the site up and running?

This is my major problem. I keep reading tutorials, but the dont really go into what i need to do with script in order to get it going?

If you could provide more detail it would be really helpful, but thanks so far, you have been great

you will need to contact the author of the script, they can add custom features for you

Some better advice would be to tell the OP to go away and learn how to do a bit of basic php/mysql themselves.

May be Audrey Grey and myself were trying to help the best we can thats what forums are for would you not agree?

its not rearly nice to tell people to go away and do it themselves not everyone as that ability.

It's not only very basic, but insanely uninspiring. YOu lost my interest on that site after a couple of seconds.

Well i built the site while i was learning PHP MYSQL and i get the above comment so thats one good reason why the hell he should not want to have a go himself.

and your 8 days late again with your reply, try to reply sooner to an OP then you can tell them to go away yourself instead of telling me to tell them to go away.
