Hello everybody,

I would like to ask you for general impressions on logos me and my business partner made. We're starting a law company which will help people in need of legal advice in everyday-life cases who otherwise would not be able to afford corporate prices. Our company will be called "legal emergency" and now the time has come to give it a logo. As we're students and on low budget the logos posted below are obviously made by us and totally amateur in their nature.

We're also strong characters and as so happens in this case - each one thinks their project the better one :) Therefore we decided to ask Pro's for opinions :)

the questions are:

1. If you were to choose only between the designs posted below which one would you choose as the one which sends the message?

2. How would you improve the one you've chosen?

cheers and thanks a lot for your feedback

I would definitely say that "Logo2" is better.

To improve: make a second version with your company name incorporated (maybe put it underneath).

Also maybe try adding a little style to your "§". Try different colours (maybe charcoal or dark gray) or play with blending styles (maybe try adding a drop/inner shadow or glow or possibly even a high depth bevel)

^^ Assuming you have Photoshop or similar software.

I trust that your legal advice is better than your logo design skills?

Now usually in this situation where someone has decided to design their own logo I turn the tables and so if it was a dentist I'd say, 'would you expect your customers to do their own dental work or hire a professional?' but in this case you are setting up a law company even though you are still a student so you are already a lost cause.

Second is better, but I think so you must do better logo or organize some contest. It will be the best option for your company.

David.

Logo one looks like an old nazi/SS poster, better never publish that.

Nr 2 any day.

I actually thought that they both looked more like a medical logo with the cross and the 'SS' looks like the snake and staff that usually appears on hospital logos.
