Whilst your former partner was indeed a silly boy to try and deal with this issue publically, there may also be a lesson for you to learn with regards to setting shared boundaries with a future partner. A business partnership, just as in a romantic partnership, is often shattered by the small things rather than the big things.

There is a good chance you won't understand them all.. I'd be worried if you did, but basically my Dad just has some ridiculous phrases he uses over and over again.
 
I had it printed up on silk paper and I am very happy with the results.

This can be done in a number of ways but typically a mockup of how the page will look is designed in photoshop and then the slice tool is used to segment the entire image into smaller visual building blocks.
 
The idea from the start is to avoid using images where possible so if a particular image slice could be achieve through CSS then that is what is done. E.g. If the main background is a solid dark grey of #333333 then rather than using images this will be replaced by CSS.
 
If a wide banner is used that has a repeatable pattern in the middle then the left side will become a narrow image, the right side will become a narrow image and the middle will be made up of a 1 or 2 px wide slice that can be repeated across the axis. This allows the window to be expanded and contracted without forcing horizontal scroll bars.
 
Most of the text featured in the mock-up should be removed prior to slicing and exporting and should be replaced by real coded text.

Why so angry? At the end of the day, it's their service, how they run it is up to them. Neither you nor anybody else have a "right" to sell designs through there.
 
If you don't like the whole idea that you're wasting time making a design you think is brilliant but it being rejected by envato, then don't make templates, build bespoke websites for clients instead?
 
I just don't see the issue. I do however admire your determination to build up a rival but to be honest envato is a huge company with probably millions of squids of investment so I think it'd be very tricky.

It is also worth remembering the importance of customer service and client confidentiality. Publishing your personal opinion about your client's judgement is something that should always be well considered.

It's slightly amusing when someone who posts in broken English suggests that another has trouble with reading and understanding skills. Pot meet kettle?
 
It's also amusing when someone who obviously doesn't have the technical ability to solve relatively novice tasks in Illustrator insults the people who post helpful tips in his thread.
 
Don't be a toolbag. A bunch of us posted the answer you needed in both of your threads a bunch of times and you just ignored our advice. You can imagine that one would be hostile with you after that.

I have some good news and some bad news. Firstly, the bad news: Photoshop tutorials can only ever teach you how to use photoshop from a technical point of view. They teach you how each tool works, they teach you how to carry out a specific task with a defined end result. The good news is, based on the work you linked to, you already know how photoshop works technically.
 
But herein lies the problem. Technical ability alone will never be enough to take you from being a mediocre designer to a great designer. You also need creativity, you need to know not only how each tool in PS works, but how they can work together, in different combinations. You also need imagination and none of these things can be learned from a tutorial.
 
Lots of people will tell you that you either have creativity or you don't. I'm inclined to disagree. I believe that some people are naturally more creative than others but that most people can nuture and develop their creativity with a bit of hard work and determination.
 
So here is my tutorial for you, and you will be pleased to know it only has two steps.
 
Step One: Keep doing what you are doing, keep developing your technical knowledge with the thousands of tutorials that can be found for free online.
 
Step Two: Think outside of books and tutorials and work on your creativity. You might find it easier to achieve this by coming away from the computer. Grab some paper and a pencil and start sketching, try a bit of photography or if you are feeling brave, have a go at painting. Don't worry about technical skills here, focus purely on creativity. Think about what you are looking at, what you want to portray. Show your work to others and see how they react and keep going from there. Try to shock people, do something unusual and when you have found a style for yourself, transfer it back to photoshop (and maybe illustrator if you fancy it).

You don't have to agree but with Panda's adapted logo the X is an entirely separate element from the text 'elance' and so there could be some value in elance pursuing a claim of 'passing off' (google it) or 'misrepresentation'.
 
If the OP was setting up a business selling shoes then there would be less of a concern, but as he would effectively be operating in a similar industry to elance there could certainly be a case.
 
I must stress that my comments refer only to Panda's rehash of the design, and not the OP's original designs which do not present a problem.
