I've downloaded some fonts and some have ReadMe files included that says I cannot use them for commercial use, what exactly is "commercial use" and "personal use"? And some doesn't have ReadMe, does that mean I can use it however I want? Of course I won't claim ownership over that font but when asked I'll point them to the owner/maker.

Using it in art work your selling.

"Commercial use" normally refers to a business site, or any site that supports a business, even if a site just carries advertising it could be deemed as commercial. If it's a site for your grans knitting circle, or a charity site, that would probably be non-commercial or "personal use".

 

Just because a file doesn't come with a README it doesn't necessarily mean anhthing, it still may have certain copyright restrictions.

 

If in doubt contact that author/owner or use another font

Any free font you find online tends to be for non commercial use, or least follow that rule of thumb anyway

 

Buy a font pack its better for you in the long run

Depends on the blog and if your a professional blogger or not, best would be to contact the author / creator of the font

Does your blog bring you in any income? If yes it's commercial if no then it's personal... of course it's not always as straight forward as this.

Even a simple placement of google ads will put you in the commercial sector.
