Everytime we come to post, we get an error message saying we need 25 points before we can post. Looking through the help section I can't see any reference to this. Can someone help explain how we get the required number of points please?

Which specific forum are you trying to post in? There's different limits for some in an attempt to deter spammers.

You can't post a link until you reach a certain amount of posts, this is to deter driveby spammer and link droppers.

 

If you want to post a link in the meantime just obfusticate it, eg www DOT mysite DOT com

all the link thing checks for is the http:// so you can post www.thesite.com without any spaces as it doesn't class it as a link, as it isn't linking anywhere its just text. So people can still post web addresses, they just can't link to websites.
