I have been asked this question on a number of occasions. If you add your url to your forums profile page will it make any difference to your Google ranking.

It is make some effects on Google...

For example some of us forum profiles page crawl by Google and Google found our link through our profile page..

No difference rank wise, but it does definately help with getting things like news and blog posts indexed fast by Google. For instance, today I added a blog post to my blog - posted a link to it from my profile status, tweeted it and submitted it to digg. THe post got indexed with 15 mins smile.gif

Depends if the forum allows 'follow' links. Most only allow 'nofollow'. Nonetheless it's never a bad thing having your URL about :)
