March 10, 201016 yr I like the design, however your contact form doesn't work when javascript disabled. I don't like the banner saying designed for firefox ... as a web designer the browser shouldn't matter.
March 10, 201016 yr Everything seems a bit to big and dark, if i was on small screen or low res most bits will take up the screen by its self with big gaps in between, and is that a mobile number.
March 10, 201016 yr nice but too dark and night-time-ish. this image /home.jpg just doesn't give a postive feel to the the site. i wouldn't want to give my business to this sort of site needs more line height in the body copy a:focus doesn't work wiht keyboard for navigation under menu item "website design" you have a typo * Imporatance of Standards it's also a mix of styles from the stock photos to the clipart - not all bad but it doesn't come together in cohesive whole to give a feel to the site that's appropriate important parts of your site are missing in IE6 like the telephone number and logo (and yes some misguided people are still using ie6) it's not a bad looking design but it's not suited to its purpose: it just doesn't feel like a web design site because it uses a dark brooding atmosphere that looks like a ghost hunt site or similar.
March 10, 201016 yr I actually really like this design. I don't think it will appeal to everyone, but it is certainly very memorable and very atmospheric. The night time feel is very well executed. Does it suit a web design company? I don't know, but I'm willing to bet that it is a good reflection on the creative capabilities of the designer(s). So I'm going to stick my neck out - great job!

It doesn't say designed for firefox, it says we recommend the use of... do you know many professionals that don't? but anyway thanks for taking a look at the site for us! The contact form was an issue that we had down to resolve, and while it's not perfect at the moment the form does work without java, it always did but the return link was the biggest issue... we will be implementing more graceful degradation to all java based functionality on the site over the coming months. true dat Useful criticism, thanks. The large dead space is intentional due to the dark nature of the current design. There will be (at some point) an inverted version (black text on white background). I think I know what you mean by "positive feel", it was a case of compromising between having a nice bright clear background an having the text legible. This is still not a final feature of the site and is subject to change. Personally I wouldn't want to give my web design business a static page with about 25 words on, but hey! Body copy line height is something I will look into to see if it helps the legibility. a:focus is set up in the CSS, must have some conflicting styles somewhere as you are right it doesn't work.. will fix this thanks for spotting it! Again good spot with the typo! Thank you. There is actually only one stock image on the entire site, the rest is all bespoke and created specifically for the site. All the photos are my own work. You do have a point with them not coming together quite right and this is something that I have voiced concerns over myself and we will be looking into improving over the coming months. IE6 support is something that is on the to-do list, although it doesn't concern us a lot at this stage as we are more concerned with getting the site up for somewhere to point our clients to! More accessibility and browser support will be improved once we have finished the core functionality of the site (namely the portfolio at this stage) Thank you very much for your critique and taking the time out to look through our site. March 13, 201016 yr I really don't like sites that are dark - but that's just me! From a design point of view, I think it looks good - I agree with the firefox logo too, it shouldn't really matter. But on the whole it looks nice.
