In my experience it's the ugly sites that get offended when you offer your services. Not that it hurts to ask.

they don't seem the type to want to pay for a site, otherwise they wouldn't have gone and done it themselves...maybe not worth sending them an email. I started typing one but was finding it very difficult to word 'your site is terrible' in a polite way and so gave up.

I don't see the problem; it's not like they work in the IT sector.

As for me it reminds me a little of the first site I ever made all those years ago (9ish if you need a number) so I won't complain....except mine had a bad midi playing, scrolling marquees, some nice glittery text gifs and bright green pink and yellow colours. I was very proud when I made it, it was a step in the right direction of my career. When I look back at it now even though it is such a bad design, terrible scripting and a 'wonderful' midi, I still think its a great site, as its what got me intrested in web design

Although you are all looking at the negatives and not the positives of this site. We condemn well designed sites for not using valid markup, shouldn't we give cheer to this designer for creating a site that does validate?

I actually like the big background picture, and all the text is readable. It tell me everything I want to know.

 

The big BG is kind-of the "in" thing at the moment as well.

It's better than a lot of what passes for web design but could do with some 'tweaking'

 

Big backgrounds even the Serpentine Gallery uses one go google it - edit they did a year ago but no longer though rest of site is identical...maybe not the 'in' thing any longer, perhaps we'll start to see more of it now?
