Just got an iPhone

Featured Replies

Hey,

Just wanted to share with any users thinking of getting and iPhone or have one - how much I LOVE IT!!

Looks nice, feels great it's really intuitive and love the browsing on it.

The access to the App store will just add continual extendibility to it with all the new applications & games... (Retro Golden Axe & Sonic) Fantastic! I've brought a couple of app's for fun like being able to control your computer with the iPhone - not something that could replace my keyboard fully but cool to impress your geeky mates and play tricks on the girlfriend ;)

It's the best little gadget i've owned to be honest! So much so I just wanted to quickly write about it!

Anyone else a big fan? :)

Haha makes two of us Ben! I bought mine on saturday, got the 32GB version, amazing phone, can't put it down!

Love using Tweetdeck on it, and Shazam is pretty awesome aswell.

Need some cash to buy some paid apps.

Hmmm well I'm on a contract with O2, I might find out if they can do me a good upgrade deal as it would be good to have an iPhone from a development point of view.

Iphones rock.

I got my 8GB 3G unlocked and jailbroken off ebay. It was scratched a bit, but I don't care at all it works fine. and it was cheaper than buying it in the store.

Having it jailbroken it great though, it's a little computer in my pocket, gcc, lighthttp, vim, mplayer everything!

The thing is with it jailbroken I can't update to get rid of vulnerability, like that recent SMS vulnerability. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=SMS+vulnerability+iphone&btnG=Google+Search).

Also the predictive text on safari could be a little less obtrusive, that combined with the small display and keyboard is why I never use it to post to forums.

My tips are, jailbreak it and get spotify, jailbreak it and use appolo.us to get all the apps for free.

I jail broke mine a couple of months back and it send my phone whappy! I could ring people without the number being saved in the contacts :S

I've recently restored it and upgraded to os 3.0 and I'm still very much in love. Getting the upgrade to 3gs in December :)

i'm still waiting for another upgrade before i dive in. better camera and apparently the video recorder doesn't do sound. i know these are relatively small things but for the money i don't want any niggles like that at all. they still look amazing though...

Having always got a new phone and been fedup or bored with within a couple of months the iPhone is the first phone I think I could quite hapilly keep using for the whole term of my contract!!!

Apparently I can upgrade to 3Gs in Nov but cant say theres much in the extra features I am bothered about???

The apps you install make it feel like youve got a new phone because you can suddenly do new stuff on it!

My favorite app has to be RunKeeper brilliant for motivation and help me really get into running because I could look at all the stats and see how I was improving.

Just waiting for Tom Tom to release a turn by turn gps app!!!

By the way this forum is so much easiyer to navigat on the iPhone now. nice one. ;)

Around a month a go I got a great deal for a second hand iphone of a friend. I now use it every day for organising jobs and tasks which before hand I would have written down on paper. This saves me money because I no longer have to buy paper for writing notes and writing ideas down. The iphone itself is 8GB and 3G and just like GreenFrog its a bit scratched at the back but not much at all. The screen is clear of damage.

I use a free app for GPS called instamapper - http://www.instamapper.com/iphone. Its very good and free :clapping:

@skidz - Mine is also jail broke.

Yes I agree with that. At first the internet on the phone took a while to adjust to but as soon as you are, its very easy to use.

I have a 3GS and it takes quite good pictures. There is also sound included in the videos.

Would love to get an iPhone, think that may be my next investment. Although will wait for my current contract to run out before I get a new one and by that time a new release is probably due soo may just wait til that comes out. Really do want one though, lots of my uni friends have them and its kinda depressing when they all have one, when I'm just sitting there with my phone, although I love my phone, but all it can do is ring and text and play a couple of crappy games :(

I want to be able to burst bubbles, control itunes, drink virtual beer.. ;)

I cannot wait to get mine to be honest!

i'm loving my iphone.

does anyone use MobileMe?

I'm thinking about getting it when I next splash out on software.

Yeah I use MobileMe, it's fantastic for keeping your contacts and calendars in sync between your Mac and iPhone and even lets you access it all online. I'm using it's functionality all the time so for me it's a no-brainer. If you add on the new features like "Find My iPhone" then it's a pretty open and shut case to be honest.

MobileMe has been pretty useful for me, in transferring files wirelessly, as there's no Bluetooth file transfer. The send to MobileMe gallery option is quite handy really.

i use mobile broadband a lot.

if i used that to store files and things is it likely to start costing a lot though?
