Is anybody else feeling ill? I've been bed-ridden for the past two days and it's been rubbish. I'm so bored, I hate being ill. I'm just popping Lemsip pills like there's no tomorrow.

Eeeeh! You men!

You lot get sick and the world comes to a halt! Us women get sick and we just carry on.....

Haha, it makes me laugh how ladies don't understand what it feels like. It literally hurts!!

You sexist bugger! :-p

Ahh the dreaded man flu, the thing us women will never understand as not only do men get sick it even reduces the toughest man into a weeping feeling sorry for himself heap that complains worse than a spoilt brat who doesn't get their way

Seriously though I hope you get well soon, at least you got ill now instead of on Christmas :)

If by ill you mean hungover, sick, tired and really can't be bothered to go to uni to do Java :( then yes I am.

On the plus side i don't have any cold or flu although I can feel it coming over xmas.

I actually just think women have better immune systems or something, they'll never understand, we're not just complaining or anything, we truly do feel awful, yesterday I could hardly speak or anything, it sucked. I didn't complain anyway, I was still polite to everyone, who insisted on making me cups of tea, bringing me drinks, toast and getting me some Lemsip tablets (I love my brother and sister-in-law :)).

Thanks, I hope I do too. I'm beginning to feel a lot better for it, just need to clean myself up as it were and I'm sure that'll make me feel even better!!

Thomas: I mean proper ailments, not anything self-induced :p that doesn't count.

I'm not ill at the moment but I had terrible flu a couple of weeks ago.

Ladies, as you have never suffered the torment and agony of man flu, let me just say that it is truly terrible, almost on a par with childbirth (I imagine).

At one point, when I had the flu, I tried to stand up to fetch another tin of lager from the fridge and nearly fainted!

I was forced to sit back down and wait for my wife to get up from the sofa and bring me the tin.

Traxor, I feel your pain and hope you get better soon :)

Haha thanks a lot, I feel it too. I hate it when you're ill, I had such a high temperature yesterday, my brother and his wife were like WTF because I sat next to them downstairs for about 20 minutes just to show my face, and they could both feel the heat that I was emitting. The flu is awful isn't it? I had it once and was incapacitated for literally three weeks during school, they started sending me schoolwork to do and stuff, I went back to school for 2 days during that time and it made it even worse.

PS. Nice of your wife to fetch it for you, luckily my girlfriend is coming over later on, so she can look after me like an elderly man in a residential home called Shady Oaks or something.

That is what wives and girlfriends are for :D

I'd milk it for all you can get! I'm sure once your girlfriend sees how poorly you are, she'll tend to your needs without complaint

Childbirth can't be all that bad and here's the evidence...

A hoodie-wearing chav kicks a felloww in the unmentionables and, in his moronic tones asks "You want another?"

The man quite understandably answers "No way"

A woman has a child and her friends come round all cooing and fussing and say "You want another?" and she says, "In a year or two".

You tell me which is worse!

And man flu is a well-documented agony that I hope Traxor recovers from before his Lemsip addiction leads him to a life of crime to support his habit. Snorting Beechams ruins lives - kids just say no!

Exactly, there is far too much evidence to suggest that men get the flu worse, women simply cannot be sympathetic towards us, it's in their nature to assume that what happens to them is far worse. As for Beechams, I'm never going to get onto the hard stuff, I'm sticking with Lemsip. I might buy the medicine and some hypodermic needles, I'll use my PacMan belt as a tourniquet.

I am joking by the way, mostly.

nope but i'm about to go to the shop and it's freezing! maybee i'll have a cold by the time i'm back

I recently recovered from the man flu, although I was only bed ridden for one day. The main reason being that I had to go to work the next day, and if I took a sick day I wouldn't get paid as I am working through an agency :( Worked through it, felt like crap, feeling better now though.

Hope you feel better soon Traxor!

I think that comment allows me to bring this out of the bag.

Men get sick a few times a year but we all have to look the other way and get abuse every month from the opposite sex .

I'm not sick but feeling a bit rough. I was up all night on Wednesday til about 6AM Thursday, then got 2 hours sleep. Went to hand in an assignment and then went to the pub at about 12 and had 5 pints (which hit me like 10) and then got back home at 4 collapsed and slept until 10. Couldn't get back to sleep so I was up until 6 this morning, at which point I slept until 3.30PM. So yeah my sleeping patterns off and I'm feeling a bit rough!

I am dying today.... not ill... but due to a stuipid drunk partner coming home at 1.30 pm and keeping me up till 3pm (at least)

He had his ex - work christmas do (all the managers felt bad about him losing his job, so they all got him drinks) So he was very very very drunk......

grrrr

Gutted, there's a lot of drink-related ailments around here :p it's lucky that I don't really drink then. I'm feeling much better now, it's really peculiar. I still have a bit of a blocked nose and a little cough, but nowhere near as bad as I did last week, so it's good.

I have a swollen tonsil...just hoping it doesn't get worse.....

Glad your starting to feel better Traxor... hope your 100% by X-mas.

@ Guezala, drink lots of Orange juige.... keep it at bay!

E x

oooooooo! My little boy has just had tonsillitis. Thankfully just the viral type, not the bacterial.

Hope your kid gets better soon!

I'm coming down with a sore throat myself though it's probably party self-induced. Not good :(.

  • 2 months later...

I am getting over a sickness I had it for about a week and a half - bed ridden.

I had Bronchitis, fever, sore throat, headache, stomach ache, nose bleeds, diziness (:p), cough and internal inflamation of the back muscles I even passed out at one point. I got anti-biotics about 2 weeks ago and I'm still not feeling 100%.

Ironically I have got a headache at the moment.

"Are you ill?"

Not any more ;)

But 2 weeks ago it was a different story... The coughs! The sniffs! The phlegm!

That's probably enough information to put you all off your dinners :D

Nothing like a bit of phlegm to go with yer mash... yummy yum!

And then there's pus from my son's spots....to go with yer custard :p

:bad:

<----------oh will you look at that! 2000 posts *runs off to make an ego stroking thread*

Ha ha nice :) Ye old gassbag woman ye....sorry off topic :p
