August 27, 200818 yr Hey! What do you think is the best mouse out there? I am looking for a wireless mouse, which is nice and comfy as I use it for so long each day. I am thinking of the Logitech MX Revolution, it looks pretty good, but i'm not sure. Currently I have a Logitech G7, but it has dies on me pretty much, and want something new and better. ANy Ideas? Thanks!
August 27, 200818 yr i'm sure EggMan had a mouse thread before, not sure where it went though! I have a Microsoft Wireless desktop 2000, bog standard mouse but its really nice to use.
August 27, 200818 yr Author I can't see it in my search I'm thinking if the Logitech MX1000 aswell. hmm, so many choices.
August 28, 200818 yr I disagree a high dpi mouse is, IMO, essential. A decent graphics tablet is going to cost many times more than a good mouse, yes great if you can afford one (a decent one, such as a Wacom). It's no coincidence that the expensive "mice" have a higher DPI.
September 7, 200818 yr I got a Logitech MX Revolution - great mouse and it's really comfortable. Wasn't cheap though (£80 when I bought it).
September 7, 200818 yr I have the VR Revolution which is basically the notebook version of the MX. I use a desktop computer, but the MX is a bit big for my tastes.. I'm kind've a fingertip mouser.
September 8, 200818 yr I've got the logitech MX1000 and a wacom volito tablet love them both I don't know where people are getting the idea that high DPI = more movement. How much you have to move your mouse is down to sensitivity. The MX1000 is not particularly high DPI but I have my sensitivity reasonably low, my OH on the other hand has a Razer with a massive DPI but the sensitivity is turned right up... I touch it and it whizzes all over the screen. Also the decent graphics tablet costing tonnes more than a good mouse is also incorrect. If you want a tablet for odd jobs, the tiny Wacom one I have is perfect and only cost £70 whereas a good mouse will cost at least £30 to £40 if not £80-odd as someone said...
September 9, 200818 yr I have the Apple mouse with the scroll ball on the top. It is a POS, I wish I hadn't bought it. Has broken twice in 2 years, very disappointing for an Apple product. Will get a Logitech next time , they have made the best mice (and keyboards) for years. The main thing is that it is comfortable to use and reliable. Microsoft are releasing a brand new tech tomorrow (blue laser mouse) don't know what all the fuss is about but you may want to look into that.
October 28, 200817 yr if you want comfort and high specs id go for a razer, got a razer copperhead for quite some time now and only have good things to say about it. if you find it important to have 20 buttons on your mouse you'll need to go for another brand like logitech
October 28, 200817 yr Far from the best mouse but has lasted 4 years on the same battery. a Laser (not optical) Mouse are probably your best choice. Never used it but it looks like a good choice: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Revolution-.../ref=gizmodo-20 There is a review there too.
October 28, 200817 yr I like the logitech track ball one. (ball in centre) Good for left or right handed, and when using with limited space. IMO easier to control. Not sure if there's a wireless one tho.....
October 29, 200817 yr i have a mx1000 and a wacom intuos2, i think the mx1000 is a good mouse, i've only had a little bit of trouble with it a while back when the buttons stuck a little. if u ask me i think £80 for a mouse is supid i think you can even pay up to £150 if you get the top of the range????? why bother?? all it does is click!!
November 4, 200817 yr Work/Development/Casual Use - Go Logitech Gaming/Smaller grip - Go Razer overall I prefer Logitech...the extra buttons can save you lots of time...i set mine to copy paste delete enter. If you have smaller hands, you might prefer the Razer
December 11, 200817 yr I like the logitech track ball one. (ball in centre) Good for left or right handed, and when using with limited space. IMO easier to control. Not sure if there's a wireless one tho..... I have just bought one last week - very happy with it so far. It was £15 on amazon and I only bought it to try it out - I will probably get a Logitech trackball that is like a normal mouse, but you control the trackball with your thumb.
December 16, 200817 yr I also prefer wired to wireless it seems a little more foolproof and if there's anything to the recent concern about wireless transmissions and health why add to that if the wire doesn't really get in the way.
May 28, 200917 yr Go for the G9 Laser mouse from logitech, iv had mine for about a year now and id go out and buy it again if ever it did want to pack up. Its got assignable macros for easy shortcuts and changable profiles as well as onboard memory to store them in. Also has a 1 tap changeable DPI. [i prefer mine on lowest]
June 7, 200917 yr Hey! ANy Ideas? Thanks! I'm looking too. I tried the MS ergonomic mouse which I had high hopes for, and the form is good, the the pressure needed to push down the wheel was immense and caused strain within a few minutes. I've heard lots of good things about the Logitechs..... S
