mmmm, i'll have a magners please it will distract me from my electronics coursework, which is always good.....
  7. Seems slightly pointless to be honest. I mean yes it adds a nice touch for the user, but wouldn't it distract them from the content and the real point of the site, which is to sell yourself. Also would it not be more beneficial to put the time and effort of a colour/style switch into something more important, such as accesibility or the site's layout etc. Just my opinion.
  8. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can be applied to any kind of XML document, including SVG and XUL.
  9. Yes prices do seem on the steep side I agree! They've very successful though, so they must be doing something right.
  10. Thanks for you opinions guys.
  11. http://www.honestideas.co.uk/ What do you all think?
  12. Vast improvment from the first one. Couple of things though, for your menu rollovers you've used javascript and images. It would be a lot better just to use CSS rollovers and there is no need for the image, as there will be a colour value that can do the green you have used. Also you've done a table layout (not looking for another big debate guys), but it's reccomended that you design your site's layout using divs and CSS. It's a lot better. But other than that it's really coming on nicely. Good job!
  13. The temptation to have some javascript that detects the user's browser and whenever it's IE just have a page saying "Sorry we don't like IE users, please see the firefox download page..." lol
  14. For someone who's fairly new into web design I wouldn't reccomend dreamweaver. Quite complicated and can add bits of code in you don't want. I use Editplus, which is brilliant. http://www.editplus.com
