  1. Yeah, could be ok if you changed colours and added images instead of all the text, but don't bother. Also, why should people hire you to make them a website/graphics when you can't do your own and need to use a template?
  2. Is that a portfolio using a template?
  3. thanks i know everyone says change the font size but that would change the entire look of the site so... no
  4. Have done a search on the forum and the web and cant find what I need. I'm just looking for a simple guestbook or comments script that I can put on a page of its own on a website. The guestbook needs to be all one one page i.e. form for adding a comment at the top, then the comments running down the page. I just need it to have Name, E-mail, and Comments fields too. Any ideas? Phil.
  5. to be honest, it think the problem is more with everyone else having too small a screen. rather than me spend my (extremely) valuable time resizing the word 'photography', why don't you people go out and buy bigger screens? something to think about there...
  6. yeah, i designed it with that in mind, i kinda like it, looks good if you have a huge res tho
  7. I redesigned it... http://www.philthomaswebdesign.co.uk/photo
  8. Its not a business, I am NOT a photographer, I tried to convey this in the heading text. Its just a site, displaying some photos I took. That's all. I guess its more like a blog in photo form. Either way, thanks for the feedback. I tried the font as sans serif and i didn't like it much. Each to their own.
  9. http://www.philthomaswebdesign.co.uk/photo/ That is a site I created in 5 mins yesterday. Just wondered what anyone thought. It not the normal, I'm a photographer, here are my amazing photos sort of thing. Its just photos I took, good or not, im hoping that comes across in the site.
  10. re-design http://www.philthomaswebdesign.co.uk/wordpress/
  11. the green is my fav bit! maybe it looks different on yours, ive had issues with photoshop displaying slightly different shades to the rest of my progs. what do you mean about the sections being huge?
  12. I use dreamweaver as a glorified textpad. I just know it really well and like the way it highlights code and finishes off tags for me. I could easily use notepad but I always make loads of mistakes so it's good that dreamweaver points them out. I don't see anything wrong with DW as long as your not doing everything in design view.
  13. thats why they call me terry tibbs
  14. http://www.philthomaswebdesign.co.uk/newstuff it works! but not in IE7...
  15. thanks, why display none? seems to work ok without
  16. Re-built my site as i was a little bored today. Im not sure which is better... New one: http://www.philthomaswebdesign.co.uk/ The new one will not look good in IE6 but i dont care. im sick of it.. but if someone knows why to top navbar buttons do not work in ie7 i'd give them a biscuit. widescreen in ff on a mac it looks how its suppose to. for the new one i may try and set up some kind of 'scroll to' animation for when you click a link.
  17. I have just finished my page and its designed as a 'single page portfolio' sort of thing. So like, page one is the first 800px from the top, page 2 is the 800px after that etc.. Now, I have some buttons for each section and just want them to link to each section so the page snaps to the top of the about section or whatever. Is there a way of telling the buttons to go to a numeric value? I think i know how to do it to an anchor but it needs to be really precise, like, go to 1247px down the page... im rambling. any ideas anyone?
  18. thats what i thought, he said some guy can do it for £150, flash site, fully update-able. i didnt wanna be unprofessional and say 'not gonna happen mate' why do people insist on flash anyway? i told him all the downsides to it, and that for what he wanted, javascript can do it... nope still wants flash.
  19. Tonight I received an e-mail from someone after a pretty simple design. However, I had to turn him down as he wanted the site built with flash. That isn't so much of a problem, but he wanted it to be fully managed. I've not used flash to build a full site for a few years but I was under the impression that if you wanted to update it, you had to open the *.fla file and make your changes there? Can flash be managed through a CMS?
  20. Thanks for putting the interview up, I put a link on my blog to you
  21. Plus, you clearly can't offer sites like that judging by your crappy coding skills. Now, you say on your homepage you have 1000 clients?.... Really?!
  22. Yeah I really like that, would also like to see the coded version. I would suggest removing the colours used and programs used bit, it looks slightly messy and isnt really necessary.
  23. Thats odd. I dunno what to suggest as I barely know how to edit mine. My theme is zipped here http://www.philthomaswebdesign.co.uk/philtheme.zip if you wanna look for reference or see how it works.
  24. Where is my interview on web designed help?
