I tried used the database connection feature on DW CS4 and i kept getting errors thrown up even though the details were all correct and the server allowed it, then it started crashing when i tried it, so i just upload and test it live, never use dreamweavers design view or built in browser. I haven't actually seen anyone try it, there isn't really much point in it, unless you are using features built into dreamweaver. So unless your using dreamweavers features no, there isn't a point to it.

Not support Crossfire, have you updated ALL the ATI drivers and Windows 7 drivers, ive never heard of crossfire not working on it? Dont use Crossfire, just get a 5870, Beaten the nvidia 295 allready Sorry for going off topic, But as Faevilangel said just delete and re-upload, should still work Ben

Step 1, Open up Dreamweaver CS4 I suspect you have set it up so you can see all your files etc? If not go manage site and follow the form boxes. If you want to upload via dreamweaver, go to the advanced tab, then in the left hand panel under the word "catagories" Select remote info. Now this is what to connect to your server via FTP, but you will need to upload the database via the phpmyadmin on the server. Hope that helps.

The plug in does render a chrome view. but it would be nice if it gave a tip to say actually download chrome, Wont be surprised if the Mozilla community come out with a similar plug in now, be the war of the browser plug in for internet explorer

Look at it this way, Say you wasn't confident on a computer and what you got with windows is what you wanted to stick with because you was comfortable. If you use IE series and you notices the problems with pages not looking right, and you heard people say oh google chrome loads pages faster and displays better then internet explorer. but they still don't want to swap browser because it breaks their comfort barrier, but by installing this plug in, there are essential keeping the same browser but getting shot of the crappy rendering engine, so therefore they keep there comfort zone with the same browser but it just runs as a different browser if that makes sense? It's change but not a graphical interface change so it keeps the client happy, Also it doesn't stop the microsoft software updating with internet explorer would happen with business so they install plug-in and everybody is happy. Way i see it is this, Web Design is, designing sites, and making them into a Working HTML site, ( you are designing the site) Development is, backend source like PHP or ASP.( you are developing the site into more) Hope that helps.

This is the plugin i am using and example.Clicky Clicky Here is what i have so far. My site. What I'm aiming to do is have the sites i have made in Categories, so that Blogs are done in one sections sites from scratch in another section and anything else in other sections. I've made it so that the container box isn't a fixed size, as the demo size is way to small for what i want to do. But when you switch from tab to tab the second tab has nothing in obviously, but if i put a site in i made a while back it will just add to the bottom of the first tab. How would i go about Making it so that Certain things display when certain Tabs have been activated? One way That i ahve thought of is to make another class and link it to the second tab so that class of divs will be shown when the tab is clicked, but I have no idea how to implement it with Jquery as im still learning. Javascript is still used in Terms of Jquery, and normal JS, You need to know basic JS syntax to write Jquery. And it's being used more becuase it offers more user friendly applications and a nicer UI, My link That is a nice demonstration of Jquery with a CSS example next to it. To me, the Jquery navigation looks better. But one nice thing about this is, if the user has JS disabled You can put a comment there alerting them to turn it on to get the full functionality of your site, and then offer a more simple use for the site. But I have never seen or heard anyone turning JS off when browsing the web to be honest.

As Elite said, best way is to watermark the image... But if you want to add a transparent PNG over the top this is how you do it. Make a div container. Set its background as the image you want displayed, and set the divs container to width and height of the image, then in the actualy div you will put your plank png image. HTML: <div id="tranimage"> <img src="imagecov.png" width="800" height="800" /> </div> CSS: #tranimage{ background:url(image.jpg) centre no-repeat; height800px; width:800px; } Should work.

Try adding margin:0 auto; into this tag #header .row-1 { text-align:center; height:50px;} Hope that helps, and i think that should work.

Have you ever wanted to use more then two monitors without getting an extension hub? or going SLI or Crossfire with the latest drivers? Now With this new GPU it is all available in one card. Suprisingly it is released by ATI not Nvidia. This is the card My link Ati Radeon 5870 HD, If you read the specifications, it has 2x DVI ports, 1 HDMI port and 1 Display port. This card can run up to three monitors in one go, with no monitor hub, and all three of them can be put up to 1080p resolution if im correct. But That isn't everything from the new 5000 series. There is another version of this card called the "EyeFinity" This card has 6 ouput ports and all of them can be used simultaneously, So all 6 monitors at 1080p that is a lot of desktop real estate hey?, but ATI took it further:P want more workspace, well its possible, If you get a Classified x-58 SLI motherboard which has 4x PCI-E bus slots, you can stick 4 of these babies in there, and have up to 24 monitors at 1080p. I have to agree with you there, it does hold some good potential for the future but as he states in the video about Ajax taking like 6 years to come into full use in the industry, it might not be that long for HTML5 but it will be some time. As you say about old browsers we still have MSIE6 and 5 in some cases, Not sure if they are still being updated? Firefox2 which I think mozilla have stopped updating now. Safari is safari so should work, same with opera, but with safari and opera its whether the user updates the software or not. I too will experiment on private sites and little projects i can think of, after all the private testing will be useful for when it gets "standardised" Ben

Good morning (2:15AM) do we ever sleep? When a client/customer makes an enquiry i take no personal details except name email number(optional) and a message for me, but say they give me number and anything else over the design/develop period and i declare i destroy anything i get and on request will destroy if that is what the client wants. Would this go in privacy section or the terms and condition section? Little unsure on it, due to the legal nature of it. Im saying privacy but i just want to make sure. I'm putting it in Privay section for now, until i hear back from WDF Many Thanks Ben.

Little tip i picked up off youtube aaaages ago and have used it since, find a picture of a knight standing up, Next step can be done in illustrator or flash, (helps keep the lines smooth and its faster to draw.) Put Layer one as the knight, then on Layer 2, trace the outline of it. Then there you have it, your knight outline to do with as you please. Dunno if that will help.
