  2. If it looks good - it looks good. Your own perception should always be included in the design process. if not where's your chance at being creative? If everyone followed the rules, there would be no change. No change = static. I always feel its better to loosely base your direction on a idea but always add your own ideas that look better in your opinion... hopefully others will agree... If you are under strict instructions to make it a true flat design ignore all that and follow one of the guides posted above
  3. Welcome markvog There are some restrictions to starting new topics until you have made a certain amount of posts I do believe.
  4. http://www.w3schools.com/ have excellent tutorials to get you started

  6. If the site was built in Wordpress having a copy of just the HTML is not really going to help, you will need a copy of the files as it's written in PHP, the other important thing which you are missing is the database. The only possible way you could salvage this by trying to recreate the site from just the HTML & CSS (?) you would need to start from a fresh install of Wordpress with the template which was used originally, then it would be a process of applying the HTML changes and styling. IMO your better off starting afresh...
  7. I agree with teodora, considering you are going for the concept of an eye, the more logical one to choose would be the first one. I just think it needs to be more elliptical - making the inner circle thinner may have a better effect IMO
  8. I think that is much better positioning for the scroll arrow, seems more logical I think the dotted border on hover is a personal pref, from my view I feel it takes away the nice sharp clean edges of the rest of the pages design.

  10. I like the look of this, looks smart If this was mine I would lose the dotted border under the links on hover and I would move the scroll up arrow to the right of the page and place it just on the outside of the wrapper - for me it just feels a little awkward over on the left.
  11. I had issues with Concrete 5 loading pages very slowly, anyone with the same problem follow this guide, it works wonders: http://andrewembler.com/posts/5-easy-ways-to-speed-up-a-concrete5-site/
  12. I can't see it going anywhere soon... here to stay for sure.
  13. It would be so cool to speak and understand Chinese
