  1. Hi everyone, I thought I would resurrect this older thread, because it seems to touch most of the important aspects regarding the importance of articles. I would like ask this, is article marketing still as effective after Googles recent updates ? (I know this will show my age) "but has anyone noticed website SEO is a bit like the old Spy vs Spy cartoons 555"
  2. Hi welcome to wdf, I hope enjoy our friendly forum, and that you might share some of your internet marketing secrets with us.
  3. Hi welcome to WDF, i hope you enjoy you enjoy the forum & good-luck with your new job.
  4. Hi Wasi, welcome to WDF
  5. G'day mate, welcome, if you've got questions then you came to the right place.
  6. Hi JR, it's looking ok, but I agree with couple of things the others have mentioned, namely the Logo & text fonts could be a bit bigger. I really like your about page img, this is what I would try. I would increase your slide show size to about half the width of the page, with your leading text next to it, can you add links to the slide show if so I would ? "I would also try slowing it down a little". anyway that's just my opinion.
  7. Sawasdee hi mate, I hope you know what your getting yourself into, I remember when I liked to dabble in web design, then the next thing I knew it was like 5 yrs later, & it had become my life, lol. Anyway welcome I'm sure you will find this the perfect place to both learn & have a laugh too.
  8. Hi Bazzy, welcome aboard.
  9. Hi frcketz, welcome, hope you have a lot of time to spare, this is a very cool forum.
  10. I totally agree with this, 1 tip I would add is most of the time it's better to use a CMS plugin, if you want to display a site map to your sites users, and use a 3rd Party program or web-site to create a sitemap / xml file to submit to Google & the other Search Engines, because most plugins don't crawl your site as thoroughly, and may help you pick up errors that plugins miss.
  11. Hi guys I've asked this elsewhere on WDF, I primarily have used Joomla, and although I recommend it highly I would like to expand my horizons, I would like to give WP another try, it was the first cms I tried when coming out. But I just couldn't get into it, but I realize it was my lack of ability rather than a WP problem, can anyone point out a good beginners type tutorial, hoping describing how to set up a simple site, with Home, About & Contact Pages "and menu to suit"
  12. A brilliant & informative overview of what joomla is and what it is capable of. I hope to find something similar for drupal. Good work.
  13. Hi am pretty sure with h1, h2, h3 tags the font size doesn't matter to google so use the size that best fits your design. The Tags are used to tell Google Relative importance of the text. eg. H1 the most Important use for Page Title etc.
  14. Welcome I am sure you will find heaps of helpful advice here.
  15. Getting hacked on the first day is strange, but probably the best time "if you know what I mean" sort of put you on your toes. I was hacked but was about a year a install. I do have a plugin now, but I'll have to look into using .htaccess . About my original question,, if there was a way to tell which pages are indexed or a list of pages that aren't indexed & why would help, In Developer Webtools I've looked everywhere but can't see that feature, can only see what pages can't be reached, anyway thx for your advice.

  21. Thx for your suggestions guys, It's just tricky when I don't know why It's not indexed, if I new then I could fix it, or if it's nothing then not worry about it, if Google bans pages because too many Keywords or something "do they tell you" anyway here my robot file thx again.. # If the Joomla site is installed within a folder such as at # e.g. www.example.com/joomla/ the robots.txt file MUST be # moved to the site root at e.g. www.example.com/robots.txt # AND the joomla folder name MUST be prefixed to the disallowed # path, e.g. the Disallow rule for the /administrator/ folder # MUST be changed to read Disallow: /joomla/administrator/ # # For more information about the robots.txt standard, see: # http://www.robotstxt.org/orig.html # # For syntax checking, see: # http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/robots/check.html User-agent: * Disallow: /administrator/ Disallow: /cache/ Disallow: /cli/ Disallow: /components/ Disallow: /images/ Disallow: /includes/ Disallow: /installation/ Disallow: /language/ Disallow: /libraries/ Disallow: /logs/ Disallow: /media/ Disallow: /modules/ Disallow: /plugins/ Disallow: /templates/ Disallow: /tmp/ Disallow: /srwbackup/ Disallow: /backup/ Disallow: /simplychinese/ Disallow: /simplythai/ Disallow: /simplygreek/
