  4. This is precisely he reason I joined this forum. Thanks for thinking of stuff I would never consider!
  5. It won't be a super complicated design, its just a portfolio for the food they do really, about 6 pages, including a gallery with photos and video, a booking page and a 'VIP area' (not sure what for yet) its still in the early meetings phase yet, and if I outsource this its going to affect the price.
  6. Thanks for all the help, and not frothing at the mouth, putting me in a giant wicker man and holding me up as an example with all that's wrong with web design! Just out of interest (and I know its a 'how long is a piece of string' question) but how much would a developer charge for working off my psd's?
  7. I've looked at wix, and you can pretty much make a site from scratch, using whatever images, videos etc you like. There are some limitations, with regards to menu options, but its for a restaurant, and its just really going to be like a portfolio of the food with a booking form and contact info. My original post was really just whether it would be 'the done thing' to use a site like wix, which some would consider a bit cheeky. As for outsourcing, that's a great idea, I'll have a look into it.
  8. I've just started out as a freelance graphic designer, and my main client has asked me to design a website for him. The only problem being that i cant actually make a website that works. I can 'design' one that looks great, but getting it to do stuff? Im afraid thats out of my league. I mainly use photoshop, and ive seen some tuts on building a site in PS, but they are a bit simpler than the customer wants. I have considered using Wix, but im faced with a bit of a moral dilemma about it. Now before you all get frothy at the mouth and grab the pitchforks and torches, please hear me out. As I said I can design a site that looks cool, and with wix all the extra stuff is added as 'apps', booking forms, galleries etc. I certainly wouldn't claim to have built the site on my own, and would charge the guy for my time sorting images out, and the design work involved. I'd appreciate you're thoughts on this one, because its causing me a bit of stress, I've done loads of other stuff for him, and don't really want this to wreck the deal. Thanks in advance.....
