  4. I've been with Hostgator for years. Great service, no issues.
  5. I use my own contract templates. No messing around, just fill in the blanks and save as PDF. Then have the client sign off on them.
  6. Two things.... 1. Prequalify your clients. Set better filters to prevent this sort of crap. 2. Walk away. You don't need the headaches.

  8. The biggest differences will be - Working from home... 1. The isolation is a killer 2. You never stop working 3. Its hard to find a life/work balance 4. You have lower expenses 5. You often need to meet clients in cafes Working from an office 1. You have more expenses 2. You at least can interact with others (unless of course you intend on working on your own) 3. At the end of the day, you can switch off to work Just a few points to consider.
  9. Regardless of what the system is written in, its critical that you put a stop to this immediately. Change requests, do nothing but lead to scope creep, which leads to delayed projects and a lot of frustration. You need to remind the client to what they agreed upon within the signed contract that they signed off against. Say no immediately, not later. You MUST be firm.
  10. Hey guys, John Romaine here. I've been freelancing now since 2001. Self employed since 2007. I thought I'd join in an effort to help other freelancers with business related stuff. Thanks for having me!
