Thanks guys for your opinion, it helped me a lot. It's not finished yet that's why it's blank. I will definitely add social logos, thanks a lot for pointing that out. The theme can be used for a fitness site as well not only a gym. I didn't think of that, now i know what to do. I will probably make a pull hover effect it will look awesome. Wow i can already visualize the end result. You guys rock!

Thank you both for your responses, i will definitely consider your advice. I played a little with the text and it already looks better. After i finish the design and code it(a few days probably) i will post the end result. I think it could use some spacing, also it will look a bit better after i add the logo to the left side.

I don't really agree, maybe some have more talent than others but i believe that that inspiration can be nourished and principles can be learned. I hope i'm not too off topic but i think i should post this quote here.

Guys, i need your help. I'm creating some random themes that i can add to my portofolio since i don't have any experience and this is my 4th ever designed theme. I know it's not ready yet, but i keep redesigning it since i feel like something is off about it. I want to apply for my first ever web designer job and i want to have a decent portofolio. Hey, First of all i wanna say that your website is clean and simple, which is a good thing. Personally i don't really like the colours, and by that i mean the feeling it creates. Also the background image seems low quality but it doesn't affect the text so it's not that big of a problem. Since the functional part of the site is set you only need to work a little more on aesthetics. Hope i wasn't too vague and that my opinion was helpful.

I tried changing it, and i also think it works better with white. Anyway i got some new ideas and will probably sketch another design during law class lol. i seriously don't even know why i'm going Thanks for the feedback, actually i think i'm gonna make it a wordpress theme after i'm satisfied with it.

As thrilling as it can be lol. I made my first theme 2nd version, made it from scratch again but i kept some of the original elements. Please look at it and tell me what you think, i might actually tweak it again a little depending on your observations and maybe actually go live.

Now that i know what i need to improve i tried sketching a new website structure during economy class. As soon as i finish this annoying course i'll start working on it, i will also try applying some color theory to this.

Ask the clients to give you a couple of logo designs they like but also some they dislike and ask why. Not only you know what design to go for, you also know what to avoid.

It was the best starting point for a beginner like myself, it helps you understand aesthetics and how to create "sexy" interfaces. It was easy to understand and i recommend it to anyone. Also, has anyone else read this book? what did you think about it? are there any advanced learning materials similar to this?
