  1. Hi there, I'm having an issue with my code and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. The best way is probably to just show you and provide a list, so here is a link to the test site: http://uberdelic.com/abtest/index.php And here's your list: When I add an item to the cart everything works fine apart from the item number is 0 If i add another item, the new items number is also 0, next is 1, 2, 3 and so on. Now if i try and empty the cart, it does nothing....but click twice and the cart empties? And I'll paste my cart.php code below. Thankyou to anyone who actually looks through this, cos it's a mess and as it's not an easy one, or at least I haven't found it to be.... encouraging huh? <?php session_start(); include 'header.php'; ?> <div id="uber-body"> <h1>My cart</h1> <?php ///This section is for pulling the cart id and +1 if(isset($_POST['pid'])){ $pid = $_POST['pid']; $wasFound = false; $i = 0; if(!isset($_SESSION["cart_array"])||count($_SESSION['cart_array'])<1){ $_SESSION["cart_array"]=array(0 => array("id" => $pid, "quantity" => 1)); 4. Hi there, I've got a database set up and it connects just fine, but when trying to log into the admin area I was getting about 10 errors, now I've cut it down to the final two but I can't figure it out. So any help would be greatly appriciated!! 5. Hi there, I'm updating a Magento site with a new SSL certificate as it is now invalid. I've purchased a new one from godaddy ssl store and have downloaded the certificate files (.CRT files) but now I'm kind of lost... I presume that I need to rewrite the current SSL file through FTP, which is fine - but I cant find it in the directory. I'll also need to restart the apache server but since speaking to my server host, rebooting the whole server should achieve this - so that's all okay. But I need to know: Are my current instructions correct / unlikely to cause any problems? Where is the SSL currently located in the Magento ftp directory? And if there is anything else I should be aware of when updating an SSL? I have been reading up about SSL in regards to Magento for a long time now(a full day) but I seem to have a few puzzle pieces missing. Thanks for reading and any answers are greatly appreciated!
  6. Thanks Guru! I had a look through and I've got SSH down, but the update manual reffers to updating it to 1.7 and not the new 1.8. Do you think the process will work just the same if i replace the version number in all the code required for execution? Cheers!
  7. Hey! I need to update my Magento community edition from 1.6.2.0 to the new 1.8.0.0 version. I’m just guessing but I presume that in order to do this I need to download the new files and then replace the old files on the server using an FTP client. So other than needing advice on how to execute the actual update, I also need to know of any precautions that I need to make so that my database, files, personally created code and general design all stay preserved. Either that or just point me in the genreal direction! I’ll be very appreciative for any answers! Thank you for reading zee post (http://www.magentocommerce.com/download?icid=BLOG_magentoce18release_downloadbutton)
  8. Thats awesome! Couldn't have asked for a better answer! Thankyou!!
  9.    jokerxfx reacted to a post in a topic: Magento - Edit the header?
  10. Hi, I need to edit the header image of the website. Rather than a logo on the left I'd like to give it a "background-image" with the logo included. I found the header file after getting into WHM and setting the FTP details so I could connect, its a PHTML file, I'm aware of HTML and CSS, but the file seems to consist of a few line's of random echo'd Javascript content. Could anyone advise me? My knowledge doesn't go much further than HTML and CSS. Many thanks
  11. Hi there, Ive got to grips with Joomla's basics recently, but I'm lost on how to reduce the space between the car image in the header and the content box below. I thought I would just have to cut the image down, but its split into 3 parts The logo (top left) The road sign (right) and the car image (Which i presume includes the gradient below it, as its not on the road sign or the logo. Both the Road sign and logo are present within the media manager gallery, but I just cant find the car image. So my question is, does anyone know where it could be? Is it part of the template and will my hypothesis even make a difference? Oh, and here is the link: http://rg18.webd.pl/camcab/ Many thanks
  12. Hi there, Just a quick question, its probably fairly simple, Ive continued working on a website using Joomla for a client. Never used it before, found it farley easy and good to be honest. - But the website currently has a URL: http://rg18.webd.pl/camcab/ - Before I give it back to the client as a finished product, how would I change the web address to match their old site which is being updated with this one? Many thanks Gordon
  13. Forgot to post, thanks for the reply guys, I did the honest thing... And figured Joomla out, whoah, extreamley simple, you were all 110% correct.
  14. This is my invoice for a 18 page HTML+CSS site, I just want some advice on whether or not the prices were satisfactory? Price(Per unit) Website page (£11) x 18 CSS Dropdown Navigation (£30) x 01 CSS Image Gallery (£30) x 02 (Light box galleries) Photo enhancement and resize (£05) x 13 (For galleries) Page Content fill (£05) x 18 ("Filling the page content", realigning ect) Filler Images (£05) x 13 ("Images to fill space to compensate for lack of current content") Basic SEO Optimization (£10) x 18 TOTAL:£688 (I'm also hiring a graphic designer to help get it perfect, I was just going to pay him out of the total price rather than try charge the client since it was my idea. Is that the best idea?) I'm still new at charging people, and i struggle lol Thanks for reading and thanks for any replies!
  15. Hey all, Thanks to anyone who reads, and double thanks to anyone that replies!! So i got this job, just a little one, to add an extra page to a site, and move another around, the guy called me up, said its a few days work, I said thats cool, gave him my email and then I waited for a message. Aftew a few weeks of back and forth I got the site files from his 'underdog' who said a student had made it (Im also a student) - But the site files weren't what I was expecting as im a front end coder, I don't know PHP ect.. Turned out the directory was ripped from one of their PCs program files, I put my hands up and said Ive never used it but ill give it a good go, he found that fine and left me to it. About a week later, Ive been racking my brains trying to get their template to load into it, to find out that its probably better to do a backup of their actual live server and use that, because the directory I had included no content.... which didn't make much sense to me since I could see some of the content, but an expert told me otherwise. - So instead of trying to get him to backup something which he doesn't know how to do I said that I could allways completely rebuild his site in HTML CSS - It would be one of a kind and I could do some SEO on it afterwards and also do any updates for him with ease, or he could go get a Joomla specialist. He decided that I could re-build it. So im talking to him now about the inner workings of a PHP Accounts forum that's on there and I realized I haven't even asked him about payment, I was going to say: "I didn't get a chance to speak to ***** about payment when he gave me this job, should I just do the work and give you an invoice? or would you prefer a definite price?" I just think I sound very unprofessional and I just want to do this properly, so sorry if it doesn't seem like a valid question but, how should I go about trying to price this now? - It seems kind of unspoken of at this point >_< Cheers
  16. Thanks Inspired, your a legend I just have a few more questions, the content which I need which is on their server, how will I identify it? For example, what kind of file extensions are they? and how do I turn them into an installable template, just because all the examples I have seen so far have been done with a zipped file? Thanks again for your answer
