Web Design Help
Hi Josh, I am moving house at the moment so don't have much time to help you at the minute. I will get in contact with you sometime next week and explain some things to you. Unfortunately it’s not as easy/quick as it may seem to you right now, but that’s all part of learning. I will mail you my mobile number as I don't have yours any more, I have had a new phone since we last spoke about 3 years ago ha-ha. Take care mate, Dan.

My site was reviewed by Webuser magazine!

How many web designers in your area?
Every other Dave thinks he is a web designer these days; the majority of them can't even spell HTML. It is a little frustrating, but what can you do. (edit - typo)

You know You're a freelancer when...
OK so a mate of mine sent me this link the other day... I found it pretty funny and thought I might share. Don't forget to add your own people... You know You're a freelancer when.... * You think working 14 hours a day is something everyone does. * You wear your best pajamas to important client Skype meetings. * Going to the grocery store is your idea of a vacation. * You argue about work with your dog. * You keep a sleeping bag in your office so you never have to be far from email. * Your significant other rolls their eyes whenever you check emails during a date. * You dream about battling angry clients. * You don’t have a social life. Wait…social life? What’s that? * You consider Starbucks your official office. * The last time you saw the light of day was the last time you left the office…three years ago. * You forget if there’s a desk underneath all that paper. * You only go to conferences and events for the cool swag. * You promise to work just five longer…three hours after you already promised to work just five minutes longer. * You count your iPhone, iPad, or Android as a business expense. After all, you have to check your emails often when you’re away from the office. * Instead of going to the doctor when you’re sick, you Google about so you don’t have to leave your work. * You make up “lunch traditions” just to get out of the house once a week. * Your parents wonder how you’re paying the bills. What is it again you do exactly? * After a year of two of freelancing…you’re now afraid to leave the house. It’s so safe here! * You no longer bother to get dressed or take a shower…what’s the point?

Great stuff. Thank you mate. Thanks, Dan.

Student and teachers edition software
I am looking to buy Dreamweaver and Fireworks CS5, and as we know, they can be pretty expensive. However there is the teachers and student editions (Education editions) that come at a much smaller price. Is there any difference in this edition rather than paying for the full whack edition? I am actually a student and meet the requirements for the student edition. It would save me hundreds of pounds between them. Thanks, Dan.

Website redesign
Hi there, I think the design is great. I love the "simpleness" about it. My only negative feedback would be about your contact page. There seems to just be a link "E-mail". Maybe you could use a PHP contact form. (See PHP section on the boards). It would make it look a whole lot more professional and round the site off brilliantly. P.S Your music is great. Thanks, Dan.

Help needed
Another obvious one but may solve your problem, instead of replacing the page have you tried removing the original page and then uploading the updated one? Just a thought. Dan.

Recommended books or online tutorials for jQuery beginners
Afternoon all, I have been designing static websites using HTML and CSS for a year or so now and now I want to broaden my knowledge and skills. My next step is to learn to use and to learn about jQuery. Can anyone recommend any books/e-books or online tutorials they found useful when starting out? I would appreciate any input from anybody. Thanks, Dan.
