  2. Hi. I have recently started my own forum design. The forum is running SMF 1.1.9 and I have been trying to make my own theme just for a bit of practice. What I did: I downloaded the babylon theme from the ftp and copy the files to my own directory. I then edited the images starting with the new post images for a test. To test it I uploaded the images back to my ftp in its own directory in htdocs/forums/Themes/freckes I then went to my forums and entered the admin control panel and installed the new theme, it says that it is installed correctly and then I reset the forums theme to my custom one all that..etc.. Than I ended up with this: Any help is appreciated
  3. Thanks! Great tutorial. I have only just started using wordpress and now designing for it, it is great.
  4. YEHAW! Very quick, even me with my crappy internet. Just wondering, if it will change to the address instead of the IP, I gather it is just the DNS has not swapped over yet?
  5. I am still in high school but I am not intending to go to uni for web design, if I do go it will hopefully be in software or engineering. I taught myself the basics of web design and I have a few books which a bit more advanced.
  6. Thanks, I would only be looking at it for designing websites no games or anything. So yeah, got some resources? Cheers

Never used a Mac and don't intend to. I am quite happy with a good OS. XP and Vista keep me happy until 7 comes out. I have seen many people designing wonderfully on windows OS' don't swap. stay cool
  8. Yup...CSS is probably the most important part of web design these days, besides the design itself. It is not hard to learn and the rewards you get out of it are wonderful. So go out and learn it
  9. gl ben, hope everything goes well, only new here but can already tell it is a great spot

  12. Very nice site, although I agree the white rollovers are a little strange, perhaps the yellow/green colour you used in the WeBlog part. Also, I love your logo with the paint brush power button. Beautiful!
  13. Very nice list you have there, I have always wanted to learn flash but never got around to it, I think I will start learning basics. Quick questions.. 1. Is it hard? 2. Is it similar to any other languages? Thanks.
  14. Screenshot is attached to my first post.
  15. Hi, I have a very very strange problem lol... I am adding a navbar into my website, but seeing as I am not used to do this via css I get a weird problem which is instead of my entire button showing up, I get a strip of it. I attached it into the post..here is my code. <ul id="navlist"> <li><a id="n1" href="index.htm">Home</a></li> <li><a id="n2" href="">News</a></li> <li><a id="n3" href="">Events</a></li> <li><a id="n4" href="">Reviews</a></li> <li><a id="n5" href="">Forum</a></li> <li><a id="n6" href="">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a id="n7" href="">Links</a></li> </ul> #navlist{ margin-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; white-space: nowrap; position: absolute; height: 27px; width: 777px; top: 225px; } #navlist li{ display: inline; list-style-type: none; } #navlist a { padding: 3px 10px; background-image: url(images/button.jpg); height: 20px; width: 91px; display: inline; position: absolute; text-align: center; color: #fff; text-decoration: none; } #navlist a:hover{background-image: url(images/buttonover.jpg);} #n1{left: 0px;} #n2{left: 111px;} #n3{left: 222px;} #n4{left: 333px;} #n5{left: 444px;} #n6{left: 555px;} #n7{left: 666px;} I used an old template for help with it, but I still can't get it right.. Thanks
  16. Sorry mate, still don't like the wallpaper idea, there is too much of a contrast, mabey add it onto a seperate webpage and link to it because I think it is taking your entire site down.. Still gj though
  17. Sorry, I don't really like the man, if it wasn't blurry it would be better..nice work though
  18. Site looks fine to me, however it does look as if it is more than 130px. But I don't see a problem with it, it isn't as if it is stretched. If I were you I wouldn't worry about it too much.
  19. Thanks very much!
  20. Hi there, I read dizi's quick tutorial but I wasn't sure if that is what I wanted in order to center an image, I want the image centered in both horizontal and vertical so yes, right smack bang in the middle. Like a splash page I guess... Thanks
  21. Just visited and found @robhawkes sorry, the website was inspired by yours, i fully accept any criticism and have deleted the entire site seems he is very apologetic good thing he had the manners to delete it. I have seen your site btw, very nice
