Design & Coding

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, let me take this chance to firstly say hi as this is my first post but I also am in some need of assistance.

I have been designing websites for a bit now, just experimenting and trying to learn some new things but what I always did was simply add the text into my template whilst I was doing the design process. I always knew this wasn't right but I never did anything about it and this seems like the sort of place which would be able to help me.

Thanks.

Welcome :)

Is there a specific question you are asking cos i missed it? LOL

What do you use for your designs / coding? Do you have any knowledge of HTML and CSS?

Try HTML Dog and W3schools if you don't.....

If you do, can you explain a bit clearer what you need help with :)

Yeah sure thing, sorry about the confusion. I know HTML quite well and CSS well enough but I am unsure what I do with my design to get it into the code as I always just do the text on the design itself without any coding.

Slice and dice the design, and then create semantic html structure. Before incorperating the design via the css. The more you practice it the easier it becomes, you start spotting where you need to slice for certain techniques like sliding doors, repeating patters, re-using images and so on.

Best thing to do is just get stuck in, people on here are always around to help should you need a little help approaching something :)
