November 13, 20196 yr hi, I am looking to explore about the impact of activities done on social media, I have heard that social activity helps to create social signals for Google algorithm, guys I need your suggestion about it. thanks
November 13, 20196 yr 'Social signals' have very little impact on SEO, at least if you're thinking about clicks on posts, followers/likes etc. (but they can have a large impact on website traffic or sales, dependent on the industry you're in, obviously). Where they do help for SEO is to help prove your 'authority' - that you exist! In the same way that a physical address, phone number and Google My Business entry can. Other things - like content, links, speed - are way more important to the algorithm. Having a strong social presence may be very important to some industries, but it's impact on search results is so small to be negligible. It's just that the top results in search are often from those companies who are successful: and therefore have the resources to spend on gaining a strong social presence. Correlation isn't causation.

Agreed. Make sure to cover the bases on your own website first. While social media does have impact on SEO (though very indirectly) it's very much on the outside of your marketing machine. Build a solid foundation first before worrying about it too much.
April 13, 20233 yr Well tbh, Social Media can help your SEO but not significantly in spite of what some Social Media Companies would say.. You can obviously increase the traffic which in turn helps your SEO but you won't get a considerable amount of authority from Social Media.
April 18, 20233 yr Yes, Social media can have a positive impact on the SEO of a website. When a website's content is shared on social media platforms, it can generate backlinks, increase visibility, and drive more traffic to the website. Additionally, social signals such as likes, comments, and shares can indirectly affect a website's SEO by indicating to search engines that the content is relevant. However, it's important to note that social media alone is not a direct ranking factor it it also depends on the other factors like quality content, website structure, and backlinks.

That’s all wrong. For starters all SM links are no-follow which means they have zero SEO value.

While social signals like likes, shares, and comments are not direct ranking factors in search engines, they can enhance a website's visibility and drive traffic. When content is widely shared on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Reddit, it can lead to increased backlinks from other websites, which are crucial for SEO. Additionally, strong social media presence can improve brand recognition, leading to higher click-through rates in search results. Therefore, a robust social media strategy can complement SEO efforts and contribute to better overall rankings. Sorry to say but just about everything in your post is wrong. Sharing content will not increase backlinks - they are all no-follow and ignored by the search engines. And brand recognition on SM will not increase click-throughs (the two audiences are mostly mutually exclusive). Have you read the Google quality rater's guidelines?
