Navigation problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

first time I've had to do a nav bar from scratch centred around a logo.

Problem I've got is the links should be white and the hover state a sort of orange/pinky colour.

What I'm experiencing is that when I visit any of the links the visited state (or active state) just defaults to the browser style I think.

Tried a number of things but it's doing myhead in !!!!

You can see what's happening here by clicking through some of the links: http://www.clearstreamdesign.co.uk/navtest/page-one.html

Can anyone advise please?

doesn't look like you've set visited, active and focus states so they will use browser defaults (focus is important for keyboard users)

a:link {….}
a:visited {….}
a:focus, a:hover {…}
a:active {….}

I don't know if I looked at the right css but I couldn't see a full set of pseudo classes for the menu links. Have you got a :visited declaration?

There were some really bad mnemonics for remembering them (in order):

Lord Vader, Former Handle Anakin = Link Visited Focus Hover Active

(dap beat me to it)
