How to become a competent copywriter in a lot of topics or we should rely only on those who specialize in narrow field of content writing?

You need to first have a keen interest in many different topics and constantly stay up to date with new developments. Then when you have formed your opinions on the topics and have some level of knowledge you will be able to write competently.

You become a competent copywriter by learning from the masters. The principles are universal, and they'll work for any industry.

 

Next, if you want to write about different topics, it's simple, you make an in-depth research about each and every topic. After you know the ins and outs of whatever it is you're trying to sell, you just take your keyboard and start typing

 

For great books, I would recommend studying the very classics. Start with Breakthrough Advertising from Schwartz, the best book on copywriting imo.

To become a good content writer the first and most important thing is to do a lot of research, to write a high quality article.You can improve your skills by writing different articles for practice. Choose an article name and search the topic on the internet. Your writing skills will improve after some time.

 

If you want to improve your writing skills then you can check the following tips that are followed by the content writers:

1. Choose an interesting or eye catching article name
2. Use headings in the articles
3. Revise the article three to four times to improve and correct the mistakes
4. Perform a lot of research and take your time in writing a good content. (as quality matter more than quantity)
5. Add high quality images in the articles.

1. Read a lot of newspaper and books. Read everyday. This is how you get the news in the quickest way. Also, you can enrich your knowledge of vocabulary and excel at using words.

2. Write everyday. It can be bad at first, but throughout practice, the content will get better.

3. Take notice of any new trend or hot discussion. That's how you get a good topic to start with your newest content.

I would rely only on narrow field copywriters, however, you never know. It's up to the competence a person possesses. But only few copywriters can be professionals in all fields. It takes too much time and efforts and I guess nobody would agree to spend so much time for that (it's rational only for a long term perspective, and only if you are not keen on fast income).

Hey to become a content copywriter you need to be aware of the popular magazines like forbes , guardian and other websites and you have to go through it only then you can get to know about lot of topic ideas and then you have to be  a expert in a domain to write quality articles.

To become a competent copywriter you must be focused on a particular niche, its good to be perfect in a specific field rather than being a jack of all.

I disagree. To be a good copywriter you need to be able to absorb information in order to be able to write on a variety of topics. Focusing on a niche severely restricts your employment opportunities.

The best advice I got is to write, and keep writing, every day. You'll suck at first but eventually you'll start to write well. If you want to cover a lot of topics, start keeping well organised notes. You can't be an expert in everything, but you should be able to write interesting content on a broad range of topics. 

If you want to write about any topic then you should have good knowledge about it. So I would recommend to choose 3-4 categories and start learning about them. Once you will have good knowledge about these categories then you will write the best content.
