Photoshop price?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

I was surprised when I knew the price of this program. I am student in the UK and I do not know if there is any specific shop in London which sells software?

Please tell me if you know anything about that.

Hi there,

You can pick up an old version of photoshop on ebay.

Or there might be a student version that is free/heavily discounted.

Or you could use a free, open source alternative like the Gimp.

I don't use photoshop myself. What do you need it for? You don't have to use Photoshop.

It is expensive because it is bloody good. If you can't afford it then use GIMP or another free alternative.

I haven't use the GIMP before. Is it good program?

Thanks...

For the price, extrememly good.

Extremely good, regardless of the price. I use only GIMP for all my graphics work. It does everything I want it to (except design the layout for me :pp )

The sooner you get Photoshop the better. Student discounts are your friend.

Photoshop isn't the be all and end all. At the end of the day, it's a very expensive piece of software with *huge* capabilities. If you're only going to use a small portion of that functionality, you're probably best saving your money and going for something more realistic.

GIMP is free and perfectly fine for what it sounds like you'll be doing.

Don't feel that you need to use Photoshop "because everyone else is". Having a piece of expensive software isn't going to automatically make you a great designer. ;)

My personal thought would be to save up your money and purchase Photoshop.

I agree with everyone here.

I use Photoshop. I've noticed that some web design jobs require you to use photoshop. (I noticed that when I saw a web design job at Blizzard) (and no I don't play WoW, it was just out of interest)
