The first thing that jumps out at me is that you'll need two columns for team_id in your match table, one for the home team, one for the away team. You can then drop the ground_name column as this will be derived from the Team table.
 
I've had a quick stab at a schema for you in the attached file. The two primary key columns in the Players_For_Fixture table should also be Foreign Keys to their relevant tables.

I want to begin by saying I hate IE6 and despise IE7 and begrudge IE8 as much as the next web guy. I would love to chuck them down a black hole and ban Microsoft from ever making browsers.
 
But recently, Microsoft have kinda redeemed themselves a bit. "Have they forced IE6 users to upgrade?" I hear you cry. Sadly not.
 
I'm talking about Microsoft's new SuperPreview software, which allows you to easily view a web page in IE6, IE8 and IE8's compatibility view (essentially IE7). (Note: depending on your current IE browser depends on which browsers you can view.) There's a ton of cool features included, like viewing them side-by-side, viewing them overlaid (which can give you a headache pretty quickly), analysing sections of code like Firebug does, and some more cool things.

Finally, Microsoft makes my day a little better.

It is a fantastic site. I really like it. The only thing I'd change is to agree with wizely's suggestion and make the font ever so slightly bigger and a tad darker. Great work!
