April 29, 201511 yr Hi Guys, My site is Computer repair service provider based in Sydney and i want improve my site design as well look so i want some suggestion about it. Thanks,
April 29, 201511 yr Just viewed the site on Chrome and the site looks good, like, nice use of the blue. The free quote on the right is also a good feature. I think the social icons would be best to go under the phone number in the header. Also a few more pictures would be nice to see.
April 29, 201511 yr it looks a bit pulled-in-every-direction too many distracting bits on the sides (and there's no preload for the 2 side images /tabs on the left the yellow ribbon top right doesn't do anything useful mayeb just put everything on the left so my focus isn't pulled all over the place text is too small, looks bad and is harder to read when it's fully justified (stick with left aligned) and the line height is too much why is your phone number an image? you could style all of that with a div and css and svg/png for the icon
April 29, 201511 yr To be quite honest, the design is tired and old. There is way too much information that can be consumed easily. You are making users work for their info and you will loose a lot of people there. You have tabs everyone on the left and right. I wouldn't even have one, There are much better places for that kind of functionality. Your repairs table is interesting, but its hard to figure out what is what. It is hard to easily see what I would be looking for. I would suggest a way to narrow their selection down in a digestable manner. A good way to do this is what Simply Mac does on their Trade In system (http://simplymac.com/trade-in). You have WAY too many bullet points everwhere. No one is going to read that. Every page I go to there is a huge list. I think you need to trim your content down by a large margin. A simple computer repair site shouldnt have this much info because all the person cares about is how much and how long. Focus on that, everything else is secondary. Your content is a mess right now. On the code side, you have it running on WP, which is fine I guess, but you have way too many http requests (files being requested from the server). You need to concat and minify CSS and JS. You also have inline styles/js which is a no-no. The markup is also pretty bad. After further looking, the site looks like a clone of the other services (web design , and IT?). Tell me, are you actually wanting to improve the site, or are you just posting here as click bait?
April 29, 201511 yr I like the simplicity of the colour scheme and the typography. The minimalistic expression of these elements works well with the "micro" brand name. But that impression is getting totally ruined by the fixed positioned tabs in the side. They are stealing all attention from the page. I also agree with cibgraphics about the amount of content. There is simply to much to digest. Try to narrow it down and focus on what the most important "calls to action" should be on each page and let these actions stand out. If you really need all that content then give the user the option to expand/contract elements or open "read more"-links.
April 30, 201511 yr The site has many issues, and is obviously not built around any kind of sound marketing strategy. I was going to offer some pointers, but agree with CibGraphics in that the original post seems to be a simple link drop, rather than a genuine request for assistance.
August 10, 201511 yr Nice color scheme, especially map on the contact page looks cool. But design is a little bit outdated. Wider page, a little bit less text and bigger font would modernize site a little. Avoid using images if it just text, better code that. As for user experience, try to think like user visiting site for the first time, he needs to get straight to the information. I've read somewhere that today users are like drunk And yep, that's true. That table at the bottom of the homepage is bad for responsive design. From SEO point, put your services (keywords) in H tags, put some schema.org markups in elements, apply the ON page SEO basics.
August 12, 201510 yr These guys have you covered from a design point of view, so I'll take a look at your written content (it's my speciality anyway). Basically, it doesn't read very well. There's a hell of a load of grammatical errors, and it doesn't come across as professional. I'd think about finding a copywriter, or at least get someone to proofread it for you.
August 12, 201510 yr "There's a hell of a load of grammatical errors..." normally that would be "hell of a lot" or "a load of..." edit: not being picky, just thought it was amusing. also not that important for a forum message, i guess. Edited August 12, 201510 yr by dap
August 13, 201510 yr Aye, there's a difference between dropping a colloquial turn of phrase into a forum post and having a professional website littered with errors.
August 18, 201510 yr the yellow ribbon top right doesn't do anything useful mayeb just put everything on the left so my focus isn't pulled all over the place
