Hi,

 

I have problems with this webstite: http://www.249sqn-atc.co.uk

it's a community website, I added it to few online directories, I added it to google through the http://www.google.com/addurl/

etc, but it doesn't appear in google, even after adding it to google webmaster tools and adding a sitemap, nothing, it says it'#s not indexed.

 

My websites usually appear on google really fast, max 1 day, but this one is few days old and still nothing.

 

Any ideas for what could be the problem? I really need some help with it.

You just need patience. It can take weeks.

You can usually get it 1 day max? Wow for me it usually takes a week or two.

Ah yes, that old chestnut! give it a week or two, I have known it to take three before! Can be a real pain when one has a client desperate to see their site Googled.

My site took just over 2 weeks to be indexed. (I checked about 10 times a day!)

The time to getting listed can vary a lot. I had one site listed within a couple of hours once, yet another has taken nearly three months.

 

Building and submitting a site map is usually a good step

Agree with you bluedreamer. My last site went to page 1 position 4 the day it was released, now at number 2.

Other projects haven't even see page 30.

Looks like it has been indexed now

The best way to index your website on Google, will be to submit your website to Google only after your website is fully complete. Once your website is complete, submit your sitemap in xml format using Google webmaster central. Once you do that make sure that your site have meta tags inserted.

 

After doing that start submitting your website to different search engines and you will get indexed by Google...

You are only as good as your last site submitt, so really well done. What do you do to optimise your site that maybe you feel helped to get such a good position in such a short space of time for your last site? It can't just be the basics (I don't even know the basics)

Hehe it took ages, but yeah in the end that's what I did.

If you use wordpress generally you'll have your site indexed within a day, another stategy that I use is to do the final week of development for a new site on a live server rather than locally. Put an index.html file to keep people out, but search engine spiders find their way in pretty easily so that by the time the site goes live they've already been, seen, and index a couple of days after going live
