Hi, We have a bit of a problem with one of the clients, he has over 20 different domains and due to problems with forwarding and the settings he is loosing out on SEO I provide. His hosting company claims that there is no hosting on a number of domains, just redirect, but I can see that on some of those domains there is PR (Google bar shows it), while on others there isn't. Google is totally confused ranking few of the domains, while it shouldn't if they're forwarded. I was thinking it might be framed forwarding, but if I hover some of the links on the website they go to www.xxx.com while others go to www.yyy.com (xxx.com being the domain, www.yyy.com being the domain it should be forwarded to) I tried to type www.xxx.com/cpanel and it comes up with a dialog box, now, if it's frame forwarding, is it possible that it's taking that Cpanel login from the domain it should be forwarding to? Anyway, sorry for going deep into details, I can't provide the URL or the code due to the privacy of the client, but in theory, is there any way to check if a domain has hosting on it?

I always believed that Google scans whole code, every bit, so I always but title tags, possibly with a relative keyword etc I keep doing it as a good practice, but the best idea is to look at professional web design companies websites and see what they do. AFAIK screen readers will just read anchor text in a link, not sure about it tho, so I'm not sure about the accessibility benefits.

Hi, I'm promoting an online shop, and it only ships products to the United Kingdom, so the only traffic we're interested in is in United Kingdom. Should I just invest a lot of time and go and search for UK forums that relate to the niche? Or should I just promote the website anywhere using social bookmarking etc and just hope that some of the traffic will come from the united kingdom? What do you guys do with promoting websites only for certain areas in the United Kingdom etc? Apart from the "on page" optimisation.

Hi, We've recently opened an online shop for musicians, www.smeaudiosolutions.co.uk We have some good products on there but I'm struggling with promoting the shop, what other options than PPC campaign can you think of to drive new visitors to my website? I'm working on it really hard, to get some links from dj forums etc, but they all get deleted as advertising, same with blog comments... I feel really hopeless because it costed me a lot of time to get this shop to work and now I get no visitors. Any advices appreciated, please don't just post "use social bookmarking" etc, I know the basics of online marketing, the problem is that we only ship within the UK, so we're only interested in traffic from the United Kingdom, and I don't know how to promote it regionally.

Yeah, I just noticed that I need a png fix and everything is f'd up in IE6, guess I'll just use CSS conditioned for IE6 to display a huge background image telling people to update their browser.
